What you will do:

The Corporate QA Manager role is about taking the lead in issues prevention and resolution. This person will work with Supply Chain Managers, Operations Directors and Managers, Plant Quality Managers, Technical Services and Continuous Improvement departments to drive Quality's agenda in managing issues through resolution. Overseeing the hold and release process for Tillamook products, managing disposition of non-conforming materials, and being the quality representative on the Crisis Management team will be core duties. Experience in Quality Assurance, internal and external customer satisfaction, task delegation, and leading small cross-functional teams is critical for this key role in the Quality Department. This role reports to the Senior Director of Quality.

Here's a day in the life:

  • Drive the issues management process and bridge across departments to deliver appropriate resolutions.

  • Lead and align the Product Release Specialists in timely and accurate release of product that is compliant with TCCA food safety and quality requirements.

  • Develop, implement, and improve procedures for effective hold, release, disposition and communication to achieve timely resolution of non-conforming products.

  • Perform risk assessments of issues and escalate as appropriate to key stakeholders and Senior Management.

  • Represent Quality on the Crisis Management Team, and work with other departments to keep the Crisis Management Plan updated and current.

  • Manage the containment, evaluation, and disposition of product as necessary.

  • Issue product-return authorizations and manage returned material investigations and outcomes with the Material Review Board (MRB).

  • Develop a tracking system for issues, their status, and outcomes and determine appropriate records and metrics for the Quality Scorecard.

  • Proactively seek process improvement opportunities to prevent issues, and engage with the Continuous Improvement teams.

  • Maintain up-to-date computerized and manual records as required, and provide management reports as appropriate.

  • Partner with Plant Quality Managers on developing, implementing, improving and enforcing the Food Safety and Food Defense programs.

  • Demonstrate ability to present ideas clearly and articulate concepts to senior management.

  • Ability to effectively work with technical and non-technical staff at all levels of the organization.

  • Provide outstanding customer service, be a good listener, and work well with others.

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, have good time management and takes initiative.

  • Work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Skills you'll need:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

Experience:

Must demonstrate an understanding of workflow and process requirements of Quality management systems and possess a strong ability to develop, analyze, and maintain quality programs. Must be well-organized, and manage time effectively.
