Corporate Project Engineer

Reports To: Project Team Manager

Location: Beaumont, TX - Atlanta, GA - Dallas/Fort Worth, TX - St. Louis, IL, Syracuse, NY - Berkley Heights, NJ

NOTE *Various Locations, preferably with access to major hub airport"

Role: Salary


The Corporate Project Engineer is responsible for design and implementation of assigned major capital and expense projects across North America as necessary. He/she also takes a lead role in identifying project opportunities and managing capital budget and capital planning.


  • Manage and support multiple capital projects ranging in size from $15K to $2M

  • Ensure appropriate project resourcing of the owner's team and securing of outsourced engineering, procurement, and construction resources as required

  • Collaborate with engineering and project management peers, and provide leadership and mentoring in development of best practice project and capital management systems

  • Direct integration of engineering and technical activities in support of turnarounds, reliability projects, and production improvements for Chemtrade facilities and customers

  • Support other programs and management systems, including reliability centered maintenance, process safety management, mechanical integrity, preventive and predictive maintenance, and continuous improvement

  • Ability to support multiple sites project requirements and direct contractors and engineering services while off-site

  • Support developing, promoting, and carrying out of policies to ensure that the facilities are in compliance with Responsible Care, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements at all times - Incorporate safety, health, and environmental best practices and regulatory compliance into all engineering and project management activities, and ensures adherence to engineering principles, practices, and standards

  • Provide technical and engineering support to Chemtrade facilities, including conducting of engineering studies and development of capital cost estimates

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Chemical Engineering with project management/execution will be considered)

  • 5-10+ years of Project Engineering experience in chemical manufacturing or refining plants

  • Demonstrated skill/knowledge in the following areas: Capital project management, Manufacturing plant support, Construction, Chemical plant engineering, Equipment design, Material handling equipment, Piping, Pneumatic equipment, Materials of construction

  • Experience working within Responsible Care 14001, ISO 14001 environment preferred

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Must be able to travel up to 75-80%

To fabricate and install parts equipment and fabricated items on aircraft. Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Four (4) years of sheetmetal and/or fabrication experience. Experience in aerospace industry preferred. Valid Driver’s License required. Position Purpose: The Sheetmetal Technician Senior works under minimal supervision to safely lay-out, fabricate and install parts equipment and fabricated items on aircraft following established operating procedures. All work performed should be in accordance with company design specifications, quality standards and completed work should meet customer expectations. Mentor and train other Sheetmetal Technicians. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions: 1. Use complicated schematics/blueprints, engineering drawings and technical instructions to safely perform sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment or fabricated items on aircraft. Coordinate with supervision and Inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs and quality specifications. 2. Mentor and train Sheetmetal Technicians, as required. Review their work prior to sign off to ensure work complies with quality control standards. 3. Oversee projects or other technicians and assesses requirements of assigned tasks to procure required. materials and documentation for assigned tasks. 4. Use blueprints to cut and form plastics and follow standard operating procedures when using adhesives, sealants and solvents. 5. Utilizing tools as required. to shape and form complex angles and configurations according to blueprint specifications or written/verbal information. 6. Safely operate shop equipment such as: brakes, presses, riveting equipment, shears, and hand tools associated with sheetmetal functions. Use the proper hardware for various sheetmetal applications. 7. Comply with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies. Uses personal protective equipment as required. Ensures aircraft is protected (PTP). 8. Conduct monthly 5S audits, as required. 9. Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign-off work. 10. Assist in developing initiatives to meet individual OGSM requirements, as required. Additional Functions: 1. Work closely with lead to develop and implement process improvements that increase safety, reduce cost, cycle time, and man hours. 2. Participate in continuous improvement activities (e.g. YIAW, Kaizen events, etc.) 3. Coordinate with other disciplines concerning projects. 4. Perform Lead responsibilities, as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements: 1. Advanced knowledge of sheet-metal or fabrication processes (forming, drilling, stamping, shaping, bending, punching, cutting, riveting, filing and dimpling). 2.
