Edelman Financial Engines is seeking a Corporate Learning and Development Specialist to join the Human Resources team in Fairfax, VA.

The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing and sustaining learning and development initiatives designed to achieve individual and organizational performance objectives. This role analyzes training needs and works closely with internal resources to develop and deliver in-person and online training sessions to a wide variety of audiences. This role coordinates, communicates and monitors ongoing learning opportunities and events in support of department and organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee administration of new hire onboarding and orientation, including but not limited to scheduling, logistics, content review and selection

  • Manage engagement programs such as High Five and Women in Leadership

  • Develop communications for program updates

  • Collaborate with L&D team in the identification, design, implementation, logistics and presentation for any L&D offering

  • Organize, implement, and facilitate corporate soft skills and technical training

  • Implement surveys to assess effectiveness of our L&D offerings

  • Provide assistance in managing the Learning Management System

  • Perform other duties as assigned and required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent industry experience

  • 2-3 years of HR experience

  • 1 year of corporate learning and development experience preferred

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication

  • Strong client service skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Must be able to prioritize effectively while staying organized

  • Must be flexible and a strong team player

  • Can work with minimal supervision

  • Attention to detail, ability to organize work, and follow-up skills are critical to the successful performance of position responsibilities

  • Thorough knowledge of MS Outlook, Power Point, Word, and Excel

  • Very comfortable with technology and the changing nature of it

  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner

  • Recognizes when issues need to be communicated

  • Is able to thoroughly research subject matter and organize it

  • Position requires high level of responsibility regarding confidential information; must maintain confidentiality at all times
