Corporate Functions Technology Strategy Lead, Director

Job Summary:

The Corporate Functions Technology Strategy lead will build and maintain the technology roadmap for Corporate Functions Technology. This role will work in conjunction with business and technology leadership across the Combined U.S. Operations to develop long term and interim technology strategies and roadmaps in alignment with long term business and technology objectives. This role will also measure and track the effectiveness, execution, and performance of the strategic plan against industry peers.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and maintain the Technology Strategy Process to support Americas Risk Management's vision of world-class leadership in risk management.

  • Strategic partner to technology, risk, finance and compliance organizations across the Combined U.S. Operations.

  • Own and maintain the current, interim and strategic roadmaps for risk, finance, and compliance data and applications.

  • Own and maintain the implementation plan to the interim and strategic roadmaps.

  • Own and maintain execution and performance metrics of the roadmaps and plans.

  • Ensure the roadmaps and implementation plan are aligned with enterprise initiatives.

  • Collaborate with business unit leadership and project teams to align initiatives against strategic and interim target states.

  • Review and guide investments made within the Risk and Finance portfolio.

  • Provide oversight and approvals in project intake meetings.

  • Ensure all in-flight and future projects are aligned with the strategic plan and roadmaps.

  • Provide the prioritized list of projects for appropriations.

  • Provide ongoing updates across all layers of organization.

  • Analyze and assess the impact of new application systems, technology, physical location changes and priority changes on the roadmap.

  • Formulate long-range strategic plan by defining organizational goals and objectives, identifying the attributes and long-term needs of customer/user groups, evaluating opportunities and threats, evaluating the capability and long-term viability of information processing assets, resources, and personnel.

  • Review and approves project plans. Monitor work progress. Review work products to ensure all aspects of all project deliverables have been considered. Ensure adherence to corporate policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Champion, and implement a data-driven process of governance, and continuous improvement, including internal frameworks, process and procedures; internal risk management; audit support; issue triage and resolution management; metrics tracking, monitoring, and reporting.

  • Ensure all internal risk practices, strategies and policies are communicated throughout Compliance Technology and that all staff understands and apply bank operating policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

  • Drive efficiency, effectiveness, productivity, standards and innovation.

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 15 years related technology experience with significant people management responsibilities. Candidate requires the following:

  • Must be a strong communicator and leader. Ability to be flexible, decision oriented, and motivated to establish support from senior management. Ability to approach strategic decisions in a consultative manner with a particular emphasis on delivery. Must be an exceptionally strong technologist, with a superior intellectual capacity, who is a natural leader, bringing a business perspective to the organization.

  • Experienced in regulations and compliance, data, processes, and technologies for major banks or financial institutions.

  • Experience in market, credit and operational risk business and technology.

  • Experience in human resources business and technology.

  • Experienced in treasury, accounting, regulatory reporting and financial planning business and technology

  • Executive presence and ability to interact with C-level executives on a global basis.

  • Experienced with First, Second and third line process and controls.

  • Significant experience and proven track record in managing project execution teams with project, technical, and operational responsibilities.

  • Subject Matter Expertise in application development, data management and delivery.

  • Has deep and wide experience with IT architecture, IT infrastructure, IT application technologies and frameworks.

  • Possesses a strong understanding of control systems and relevant technologies and how they interact with each other.

  • Must be able to build a strong technology strategy and roadmap.

  • Must be able to understand the impact of technology trends on the bank's current risk and finance capabilities.

  • Managed teams with planning, financial, vendor, and relationship management responsibilities.

  • Has strong management, organizational and evaluative process skills.

  • Can analyze complex organizational and technical issues related to technology and identifies opportunities to improve performance and efficiency.

  • Has strong leadership and people management skills to build a cohesive team of members capable of succession to more senior roles.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain productive business relationships with internal partners and external vendors.

  • Has effective negotiation and influencing skills, including strong written and verbal communication skills and strong presentation skills.

  • Has strong coaching, mentoring and team member development skill.
