Northrop Grumman Corporation is seeking a Financial Analyst to work in the Corporate Accounting department. The financial analyst will report to the Corporate Accounting Manager and will be responsible for the following accounting/reporting activities:

  • Assist with preparation of financial statement analytics and other management reports.

  • Prepare monthly Intercompany Accounting Transfers.

  • Prepare account reconciliations and research and resolve reconciling items.

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly wires and funding entries and the related analytics

  • Assist with preparation of quarterly pension & OPEB roll forward for external auditors, Corporate Financial Reporting and Tax.

  • Assist in populating the Form 10-Q and 10-K footnote disclosures and the applicable MD&A language.

  • Assist with preparation of year-end financial reporting packages and tax packages for corporate entities.

  • Assist with SOX, DCAA and IRS audits.

  • Develop and maintain documentation to support statement of work.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, and 3 years of relevant work experience; 1 year of relevant work experience with a master's degree. Master's degree or CPA may be traded for 2 years of experience. Master's degree and a CPA may be traded to a total of 3 years of experience.

Public Accounting IF directly relevant may count for up to an additional year of experience for each year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Public accounting firm experience.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or actively pursuing licensure.

  • Prior experience with SAP and/or HFM.

VIEW JOBS 5/4/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-08-02T00:00 This position will report to the Manager of Accounting Consultation and perform technical GAAP accounting research and other financial analysis as required. Position Responsibilities and duties include: * Provide on call technical accounting guidance to the sectors. * Research and analyze new and proposed accounting pronouncements and application of existing pronouncements to complex business transactions. * Conclude and provide guidance to the sectors on accounting for leases. * Draft white papers summarizing technical accounting issues, application of accounting guidance to the company, alternatives available and recommendations. * Coordinate research findings and evaluation of alternatives with external auditors. * Prepare presentations of accounting treatment with recommendations and present to senior finance management. * Update Company accounting policies for new accounting pronouncements and other changes. * Support management in the preparation of various presentations made to the members of the Audit Committee and Senior Management * Administrate the Company's accounting research and CPE license subscriptions. * Prepare and present technical accounting training on a regular basis. * Perform miscellaneous financial analysis as required. Preferred Qualifications: * Recent Big 4 or recognized public accounting firm audit experience (minimum senior associate level) * Strong GAAP accounting proficiency and research experience * Basic computer and financial analysis skills, including use and understanding of spreadsheets * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Good executive presence * Self-motivated, yet functions well in a team environment * Strong project management skills * Prior experience in Aerospace & defense industry.
