We're looking for a dynamic Corporate Events Planner, a high-energy individual who loves to work collaboratively and creativity, with Corporate Events and other team members to carry out key functions in the successful planning and execution of Experian's world-class Corporate Events. Specific corporate events to be produced may include the annual Sales Summit and Vision conferences, the Experian Elite award program, the PAC Leadership events, Future of Information Conference, Southern California Holiday Party and other corporate events that may arise for Experian North America.

Essential functions:

  • Work with hotels to manage housing lists, audio visual orders, room set-ups and develop menus for events ranging in size from 50 people to 900 people

  • Assist in developing and proofing content for event web site, event emails and other event collateral

  • Create and manage event registration websites using the provided registration management software

  • Work with the Corporate Events team to create and manage timelines for corporate events, including those that involve outside vendors, Creative Services department and various Experian business units.

  • Work directly with various levels of Experian management, outside vendors, resort management and Experian clients.

  • Keep abreast of industry trends, technology and share best practices.

  • Support survey summary report development and other post-event reporting to identify success metrics and areas of opportunity.

  • Work with the Corporate Events team to streamline and monitor a standardized work-flow process for event planning and management.

  • Support efforts to develop and maintain relevant event databases and mailing lists.

  • Provide onsite support at all major events when assigned.

  • Bring energy, creativity and new ideas to contribute to a successful event team.

  • Demonstrate event planning and event management standard methodologies.

Required knowledge, experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree - (a focus on Hospitality Management a plus)

  • 3-5 years minimum event experience, preferably in a corporate or hotel environment

  • Must be willing to travel an average of 4-6 times per year, each about one week long, for onsite support and event planning trips.

  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as necessary to accommodate heavy workloads that tend to occur in the few months before a major corporate event.

  • Experience with using online registration management software such as Aventri or CVENT is required

  • Ability to work long hours while onsite for an event, often on your feet for the majority of the day and ability to lift and move boxes of reasonable size/weight.

  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative is required.

  • Familiarity with accounting and billing processes is preferred.

  • Excellent customer service skills are required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

  • Comfortable working collaboratively as a team and sharing responsibilities of a major event with other team members is mandatory.

  • Able to evaluate options under circumstances that are outside defined procedures, selecting the best solution to the problem with minimal support and guidance.

  • Willingness to understand how the team integrates with other related teams in accomplishing the event's objectives.

  • Demonstrated experience leading by example (exhibiting integrity, enthusiasm, and commitment to results) and cultivating collaboration.

  • Experience working in a dynamic environment and track record of successful execution of multiple events with opposing priorities.

  • Strong program, project, and time management skills highly organized, detail focused, results driven, accountable with the ability to handle stress and last-minute, urgent requests.

  • Dedicated and creative thinker; problem solver and ability to "think and make decisions on your feet".
