Summary:

The Corporate Director of Cath Lab Services shall act as the expert resource for CHS in the area of Cardiology Services. Provides corporate leadership direction and assistance to plan, support and promote the development and implementation of cardiology programs and services for CHS facilities consistent with the mission of Community Health Systems. Provides consultation in clinical specialty to personnel and other entities regarding program development, departmental operations, quality patient care and patient safety. Act as the subject matter expert resource to the Directors/Managers of Cath Lab and Cardiology Services for the hospital departments who manage personnel and procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab (CCL). Will provide a broad perspective as it relates to the implementation of guideline directed and evidence based care and development of procedural best practices. Principal areas of focus include clinical outcomes, registry data management, supply and procedural charges, supply and implant management, and CCL efficiency metrics. Will work collaboratively to identify, assess, plan, and implement corporate level performance improvement as it relates to the CCL. Will work with the supply chain inventory team to ensure the CCL has consistent visibility to the changes related to supplies and implants. Will manage the review and facilitation of CCL data; as it relates to the CV services dashboard, which includes the data points to manage the operations and business department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In coordination with the SVP of Clinical Operations and the Senior Director of Cardiovascular Services, this position will lead Cardiology Service Lines process improvement projects related to clinical outcomes management, including the ability to manage, organize and analyze societal clinical registry data for the purpose of presenting the opportunity for improvement.

  • Work collaboratively with hospital leadership by assuming responsibility for the consultative development and implementation of programs leveraging hospital specific data to improve processes and identify missed opportunities.

  • Expected to serve as a mentor and expert resource for Cardiology service and develop the service line.

  • Assumes responsibility for the consultative development and implementation of programs and clinical initiatives and assists in evaluation of Cardiology program processes.

  • Critical review of care delivery and clinical outcomes to improve quality, decrease cost and improve patient navigation.

  • Research and develop evidenced based practice standards, best practice criteria, and outcomes metrics for CHS facilities related to Cardiology Service Lines.

  • Assists with strategic planning, market analysis, business development, growth and quality improvement plans for CHS facilities regarding Cardiology Surgery programs.

  • Provide on-site consultative services as needed for CHS Cardiology Programs.

  • Serves as mentor and resource for the program directors at the hospital.

  • Works collaboratively with others at Corporate to facilitate and improve Cardiology Operations

  • Develops collaborative relationships with corporate and hospital personnel, staff and physicians to ensure a continuum focus and improved operations.

  • Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information concerning the personal, financial, medical, or employment status of patients and staff of Community Health Systems.

  • Expected to assist with strategic planning, market analysis, business development, and growth initiatives for CHS hospitals regarding surgical services programs.

  • Is expected to develop and cultivate collaborative relationships with corporate and hospital personnel, staff and physicians, to ensure engagement and improved operations.

  • Is expected to represent professional ethics in maintaining confidential information concerning the personal, financial and medical or employment status of patients and staff of CHSPSC, LLC.

  • Excellent technical, management, operational and clinical knowledge of Cardiology services; at all levels of care within an acute healthcare setting.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, presentation and computer skills (Excel, Access and PowerPoint).

  • Demonstrate experience and the ability to manage multiple groups, interact productively with varying levels of personnel and staff, and provide program direction and development.

  • Ability to produce and utilize data for projects tracking and outcomes achievement

  • Ability to prioritize projects and resolve conflicting priorities

  • Ability to develop policies and procedures, performance and scorecards, assessment forms and other tools related to performance and quality metrics.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities; flexibility to accept and manage change

  • Identify educational needs and provide educational support as appropriate for each facility

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite Tools and multiple web based communication application such as Google Meet, Teams, Webex, Zoom, etc.

Certificates and Licenses:

Current Registered Nursing Licensure

Education/Experience:

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Business, Health Care Administration, or other health/business field or currently actively enrolled in Master's degree program in Nursing, Business, Health Care Administration, or other health/business related field.

  • Technical knowledge of Cardiology Service Line and the continuum of care for Cardiology patients.

  • Prior experience with Cardiology Service Line development and Implementation.

  • Knowledge of computer systems, information systems, information management, and data analysis.

  • Minimum of five years' experience in varied disciplines of Cardiolog
