Houlihan Lokey is looking for an Analyst to join the firm's growing Corporate Development & Financial Planning team. Over the past several years, strategic acquisitions and joint ventures have become an increasingly important part of the firm's growth strategy. Since 2010, Houlihan Lokey has completed acquisitions and joint ventures in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia and this Analyst will be a key contributor to identifying and executing on similar new opportunities globally. In addition to Corporate Development responsibilities, the Analyst will be involved in the medium/long-term financial planning for the firm as well as conducting financial analyses on various corporate initiatives for the CEO and CFO.

Corporate Development Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior executives in project management for all stages of the M&A process including, target identification, financial analysis, deal negotiation and structuring, due diligence, legal documentation, and post-deal integration planning.

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to properly value potential targets and model out the financial impact of the acquisitions on the overall financial performance of the firm.

  • Work closely with corporate and divisional management in reviewing the merits of potential acquisitions and joint ventures.

  • Create presentations for the Operating Committee that summarize the strategic rationale and financial impact of various strategic opportunities.

  • Plan and manage the post-transaction integration process by coordinating the activities of multiple teams from across the firm.

  • Collaborate with heads of business lines to effectively manage the company's real estate portfolio.

Financial Planning Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the firm's quarterly and annual financial forecast models.

  • Work closely with the CFO in preparing quarterly financial updates for the Board of Directors.

  • Conduct adhoc financial analyses on various corporate initiatives for the CEO and CFO.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of M&A experience or analytical work experience in investment banking, private equity, strategy consulting, corporate finance, or corporate development is preferred

  • An advanced understanding of financial modeling and analysis commonly used in acquisition work, and working knowledge of relevant accounting principles

  • A candidate should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills commensurate with the requirement to work closely and confidently with senior management

  • Superior skills with Excel and thorough understanding of PowerPoint and Word

  • Must have strong work ethic and is a self-starter

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Economics

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Director of FP&A is primarily responsible for providing leadership to corporate Finance Planning and Analysis and building a world class global Finance organization to ensure sound business decisions are being made by management related to operating expenses, capital expenditures, and strategic investments. This position will interact with all levels of management including CFO, COO, and CEO. The position will have varying levels of interaction with SVPs in the company's corporate location as well as interaction with business operators in the regions/countries. DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: * Lead the annual global budgeting process * Responsible for the monthly forecasting process * Responsible for development of financial portion of 5-year strategic plan * Develop strength in regional and corporate financial staff members * Lead and develop the corporate and global FP&A functions/teams * Responsible for weekly/monthly/quarterly management reporting * Business-side owner of financial planning system (currently Hyperion, soon moving to OneStream) * Prepare presentations for Board of Directors and Sr. Management * Prepare financial materials for Wall Street analysts and investors: earnings release, guidance, etc. * Review, analyze, and provide feedback on proposed investments (capital, M&A, etc.) * Play key role in planning and executing the short and long-term FP&A strategy for the organization * Assist in spreading of best-practices among worldwide FP&A organizations * Drive improvements to company FP&A practices * Various ad hoc analyses and special projects * Occasional domestic and international travel REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Skills: * Extremely well-developed analytical skills * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Extensive financial modeling experience (6+ years) with a public company * Strong leadership skills * Ability to drive change in a global organization * Must be detail oriented * Solid organization skills; ability to manage time effectively * Strong presentation skills Experience: * 10+ years of overall relevant experience, including: * 5+ years of finance experience, including budgeting, financial analysis and financial modeling * 4 years of leadership experience, including direct supervision of one or more people * Strong international background with multi-national corporate experience Education: * Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * MBA in Finance or related field * Experience using Hyperion financial system * Oracle ERP experience * 6 years leadership experience, including direct and indirect supervision of 5 or more employees * Public company experience including working with Investor Relations Herbalife Los Angeles CA
