Corporate Development Analyst

As a Corporate Development Analysts, you will assist our Global Business Development team during the assessment of new deals all the way through purchase.

As an analyst on the team, you will play a key supporting role in analyzing data, providing key projections and assisting with due diligence during mergers and acquisitions.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct business and financial due diligence on new acquisitions

  • Support company valuations for new acquisitions

  • Analyze and explain historical and projected financial information

  • Build complex financial models including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statements

  • Assist with the preparation of board/special committee presentations

  • Conduct industry research

  • Participate in pitches and business development initiatives

  • Support target pipeline development and screening

  • Support due diligence process

  • Support post-close integration processes

What You'll Need:

  • 1 years of experience at a reputable investment bank, strategy consulting firm, corporate development team or transaction advisory services is ideal.

  • Strong accounting, finance, financial modeling, and analytical abilities

  • Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Be an independent thinker and resourceful problem solver driven to succeed in a fast-paced environment

  • Have a very strong work ethic, organizational skills and ability to multi-task

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or economics from a top tier school

Sr. Director Position The Sr. Director, Strategy & Corporate Development will play a key leadership role in the sourcing and execution of strategic transactions including acquisitions, joint ventures, investments, divestitures and other structures designed to create long-term shareholder value. This position will develop executable M&A strategies, source M&A transactions and lead all phases of M&A transaction execution. This position will build and foster relationships with external partners including senior management teams of target companies, strategic and private equity partners, legal advisors and financial advisors. This position will manage cross-divisional and cross-functional teams through all phases of the deal execution process including due diligence, deal documentation, formation of post-deal operational strategies and initial phases of post-deal integration. The ideal candidate will have significant M&A transaction experience, including relevant experience in corporate development, private equity, investment banking, consulting and/or transaction advisory services. This position reports to the Vice President of Strategy & Corporate Development. Duties & Responsibilities * Partner with senior management, internal leaders and external advisors to develop comprehensive M&A strategies in attractive diversification areas for Cox Enterprises. * Build differentiated relationships with management teams, financial sponsors, strategic partners, advisors, lenders and industry experts to create pipeline of attractive and actionable M&A opportunities. * Lead internal and external teams to identify, prioritize, evaluate, recommend and execute strategic transactions that fit within our M&A strategies. * Structure and negotiate all aspects of a wide range of M&A transaction types. * Lead teams of internal and external resources to perform primary and secondary due diligence on prospective target companies including strategic rationale, market assessment, valuation, functional diligence, cultural fit and financial impact. * Partner with internal leadership teams to develop post-deal operating strategies and lead initial phases of integration. * Develop and coach junior team members. * Monitor our portfolio companies; assist with strategic, operational and financial initiatives; serve in a board capacity as needed * Support our efforts to strengthen Atlanta's venture ecosystem by participating in events with local accelerators and startups * Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Accounting, or related fields; MBA preferred. * 7 years of relevant M&A experience required or 5 years with an advanced degree * Demonstrated experience in corporate development, private equity, investment banking and/or transaction advisory services of Big 4 accounting firms. * Excellent business development, negotiating, financial, analytical and research skills. * Proven ability to lead teams comprised of cross-divisional and cross-functional leaders and subject matter experts with a high degree of emotional intelligence and humility. * Strong executive presence, presentation (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills to positively interact with senior management and external partners. * Robust toolkit developed in previous roles combined with a willingness to learn and adapt to different processes and worldviews. * Strong "first principles" understanding of corporate finance and capital markets (i.e. capital allocation, cost of capital, equity/debt structuring, etc.) * Familiarity with the key M&A considerations of a large private company (i.e. GAAP vs. cash financial analysis, partnership vs. corp. tax considerations, legal partnership governance, synergy analysis, etc.) * Highly organized with strong ability to manage multiple projects with high visibility, high impact and tight timelines simultaneously. * Track record of consistent high-levels of achievement in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities * Experience in our sectors of interest is preferred, but not required * Travel up to 25% Cox Enterprises Atlanta GA
