Ashton Woods Homes is seeking an experienced transactional real estate lawyer to join the legal department. Broad transactional real estate experience including drafting and negotiating agreements (purchase and sale agreements, financing agreements, joint development agreements, etc.); identifying and analyzing areas of risk; and proposing and driving solutions in complex transactions required. The position will be responsible for, among other things, strategizing with internal clients on transaction structure, overseeing real estate and related transactions across the Company, managing outside counsel and internal employees, and working closely with internal clients at the corporate and division levels.
Qualifications & Skills:
Three to six years of solid transactional real estate experience.
Lead role transactional experience working directly with clients/opposing parties/counsel.
Provide advice and legal support to clients and senior business leaders on a wide array of real estate-related transactions, including acquisitions, joint ventures, leases, financing and dispositions, and provide strategic advice on all aspects of real estate- related transactions.
Negotiate, draft and review legal documentation relating to land acquisitions, financings, development and dispositions.
Manage, as well as provide direction and strategy to, outside counsel retained to support a transaction.
Provide well-reasoned and practical legal advice and counsel in a timely fashion to the legal team, operating divisions and senior management.
Prioritize and handle a large number of transactions and responsibilities.
Possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
Work proactively and collaboratively with internal clients.
