Position Overview

The Corporate Counsel shall serve as a legal advisor of the company and will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support to the company on a variety of topics in alignment with FIFCO's legal department. The Corporate Counsel will be a leader in the legal department and will have direct working relationships with brand managers, sales representatives, and other business leaders in the company. This position will also be responsible for working directly with outside counsel on various matters for the company.

Specific responsibilities of the Corporate Counsel role will include, but not be limited to:

Provide hands-on legal support and strategic legal advice in various areas including corporate governance, regulatory matters, contracts, trademarks, real estate, employment law, litigation/dispute resolution, and compliance.

Manage a small team of paralegals and legal clerks.

Work closely with our brand managers and brand teams to develop product innovations and promotions.

Work closely with our sales team members to develop sponsorships, consumer promotions, and advise of any legal risks.

Work proactively to minimize the company's legal liability and risk exposure.


JD Degree; admittance to the New York State Bar

2 to 5+ years of well-rounded legal experience

Corporate governance experience a must

Experience in the consumer packaged goods or alcoholic beverage industry a plus


Strong collaborative working style

Excellent research and writing skills

Demonstrated ability to balance business interests and legal exposure

Superior written and oral persuasion skills. Influential.

Ability to present legal advice in a way that is easily understood by business colleagues. Applicant needs to be comfortable presenting to small and large groups (100+ people)
