Job Description:

Contractor/Consulting Position

Corporate Counsel Commercial

Neustar is seeking an experienced corporate attorney to join the Commercial Group of the Neustar Legal Department. The successful candidate will work with the business teams within Neustar to serve as legal counsel for all of Neustar's business lines including, Risk Solutions, Marketing Solutions, Registry Solutions, Communications Solutions, and Digital Defense and Performance Solutions.

This is a 12 month contract position and may be considered for a conversion to full time employee.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in structuring new sales and channel go-to-market models and related contracts

  • Advise internal clients regarding legal and business issues, including identifying, managing, and communicating risks and opportunities associated with specific products, services, and agreements

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Neustar's risk, privacy, engineering, sales ops, marketing, and finance teams to ensure consistency of agreement terms with the company's business, financial, and risk management objectives

  • Handle dispute and litigation matters as needed.

  • Support the continuous improvement of the Legal Department's processes and form agreements

  • Handle procurement agreements.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be a member of the bar, have 4-6 years of experience in supporting complex high tech transactions, licensing and intellectual property law, and privacy law.

  • Significant experience in a technology business.

  • Ability to demonstrate sound business judgment and creativity to complement excellent contract drafting and negotiating skills.

  • Knowledge and experience with data licensing, information services, marketing technology licensing, and international business issues.

  • Knowledge and experience with US and international privacy and data security laws and regulations, including industry self-regulatory schemes (such as DAA and NAI).

  • Experience providing legal support to various internal constituencies, including the finance, engineering, product management, privacy, external affairs, and marketing departments.

  • Knowledge of other substantive legal areas including intellectual property.

  • Team player with strong desire to provide business-focused legal support in connection with technology sales and licensing

  • The ability to work independently (with minimal direction and supervision), take initiative, and manage multiple priorities and assignments

  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced and fluid environment.

  • Deal focused with a sense of urgency to get things done, bias for action.

  • Willing to counsel all levels of Neustar staff, including executive level, on significant risk related decisions

  • This contract position requires the contractor counsel to work in Neustar's Corporate Sterling, VA office

Responsibilities 1.Handle full lifecycle recruitment for select business areas, sourcing talent creatively and cost effectively using a variety of available means, including leveraging internal succession planning process, employee referrals, social media, internet and print advertising, job fairs, list serves, etc.2. Ensure compliance with company and legislative policies.5. Perform employment verifications and relevant background checks on final applicants as appropriate.6. Facilitate the offer and on-boarding process through applicant tracking system.7. Partner with HR generalists and Line Managers in creation of external succession plan for critical roles within organization that don't have internal successors identified as ready in the short term.8. Up-skill line managers by providing them with effective interviewing and networking techniques. Requirements * Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.* Extensive full-life cycle recruitment related experience in a client interfacing role in a corporate or agency environment.* Experience in recruiting with a concentration in technical recruiting using a variety of different creative sourcing methods.* Strong network as well as interest and ability to always be networking.* Driven to be creative and innovative with approaches and new never-been-done ideas / programs.* Interviewing skills and thorough knowledge of standard hiring procedures, contingency and retained search, and applicable state and federal employment laws.* Experience with internet recruiting and creative sourcing strategies (ie.
