Corporate Counsel, Construction, Ops Real Estate And Construction Legal

As Corporate Counsel, Construction, you will work with cross-functional stakeholders to support Amazon's Design and Construction teams and partner with them to build, launch and manage Amazon's operations network facilities in North America and beyond.

This position structures, drafts and negotiates agreements, manages outside counsel, and counsels internal business clients on:

• Construction agreements;

• Project Execution and delivery;

• Developer, GC and supply chain management;

• Pre-litigation disputes;

The role also provides day-to-day business and construction law counseling; identifies opportunities for and implements process improvements; and administers and resolves legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active membership in one state bar is required

• 5+ years of legal experience (with at least three years at a law firm) as an attorney

• Experience managing complex construction contracts, project execution and delivery issues.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• In-house experience in a technology, Internet company, or real estate / construction company

• Ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations

• Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams

• Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines

• Strong analytical skills

• Practical legal and business judgment and ability to make recommendations to senior business leaders

• Strong written and oral communication skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $123,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
