Job Description:

At Regions, the Financial Analyst gathers, organizes, analyzes & communicates relevant financial information in support of line of business partners.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyzes, consolidates, interprets & communicates financial data

  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for review by all levels of management

  • Monitors business unit financial performance against plans, forecasts, and budgets

  • Consolidates a wide range of operating and financial projections for the development of both short-term and long-term business plans

  • Mentors and trains junior Financial Analysts

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or a directly related field and four (4) years experience with management financial reporting/analysis

  • Or Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, or a directly related field and two (2) years experience with management financial reporting/analysis

Preferences

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) and/or Masters in Finance

  • Experience within a financial services industry

  • Advanced attention to detail

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong quantitative and technical aptitude

  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills

  • Advanced knowledge of financial statements

  • Advanced financial analysis skills

  • Advanced Essbase skills

  • Moderate Qlik skills

  • Moderate VBA and SQL skills

  • Moderate presentation skills

Additional Preferences/Competencies

  • Ability to build, foster and maintain positive professional relationships.

  • Willingness to develop an in-depth understanding of the business and related services.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences and facilitate discussions.

  • Advanced attention to detail. Must be able to develop and present accurate written and financial analyses using PowerPoint, Excel, Essbase and BI Reporting tools (Power BI, Qlik).

  • Advanced reporting skills for studying variances, preparing budgets, and developing forecasts.

  • Participate as a key stakeholder in the Change Management processes. Assess change impacts by conducting impact analyses, assessing change readiness and identifying key stakeholders.
