As the Corporate Controller, you will lead the accounting and audit functions for all Circle entities in all global jurisdictions and serve as the technical accountant for the firm. You will work closely with finance, legal, compliance, product, and other departments within Circle and manage a team of direct and indirect reports.
What you'll work on
Manage accounting team in the US, Ireland and the UK and provide professional development, coaching and mentorship to team
Monthly close process including consolidations across all corporate entities
Support the establishment of appropriate financial reporting frameworks and controls
Lead audits for all Circle entities using US GAAP and IFRS
Manage relationships with audit, tax, compliance external advisors and internal counterparties at Circle
Work collaboratively with legal and compliance as needed
What you'll bring to Circle
10+ years of accounting experience including significant knowledge of accounting, auditing, financial reporting, and controls
6+ years of Big 4 audit experience, including 2+ years as a manager, preferred
Technical / operational accounting experience including: roll-forward of securities, inventory, customer assets, and preparing reconciliations, experience overseeing the full accounting cycle, consolidation of multiple entities, including inter-company and eliminations, preparing financial statements and notes disclosures (not just review), oversee full accounting cycle, transfer pricing, including working with tax, legal and compliance, and review of accounting processes including monthly close, payroll, cash disbursements / bank reconciliation, accounts payable
Experience working for a smaller company or successful start-up, preferably in the fintech space
Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate complex accounting issues with senior management
