As the Corporate Communications Sr. Manager, you will join a team that is a leading contributor to the growth of the Splunk brand. You will lead strategy and execution around crisis communications to improve our corporate reputation. You will also craft global programs and practices that help us work smarter as we tell the story of Splunk.

You are made for this position if you are equal parts storyteller, firefighter, global thinker and program manager. You should be globally minded about brand reputation and be able to craft a story that stays true to our brand and inspires a connection with influencers. You will also build teamwork across the communications team by developing programs that share the right information and set the right goals with the right people.

You will report to the Sr. Director, Corporate Communications and will travel an estimated 20% domestic and international. The role will be base out of our San Francisco or San Jose office.


  • Build overall strategy, programs and processes for crisis communications.

  • Partner across several teams and lead communications preparation and response during times of crisis.

  • Write press releases, blogs and other materials to support communications strategies.

  • Work with international marketing teams and support international communications teams.

  • Build global programs, processes and strategy with/for teams including public relations, analyst relations, executive communications, and employee communications.

  • Plan and execute various communications projects/programs with internal and external partners.

  • Handle reporting across communications team and help to estimate work efforts resources.


  • We are looking for 8-10 years of communications experience, preferably with a mixture of in-house B2B and agency or journalism experience.

  • You have experience leading global crisis communications situations.

  • You communicate effectively and create trusted partnerships with senior leadership and other stakeholders.

  • You have hands-on experience running successful communications programs and helping to enable and align communications teams.

  • You are an excellent writer and presenter - no matter the audience.

  • You are a strong leader who can think autonomously and inspire teamwork.

  • You have a BA/BS in communications, journalism, marketing, business or related degree.
