Job Summary

The Communications Mgr is responsible for leading the development and implementation of external communication and public relations to align the Corporate Communications strategy and MoneyGram's overall global business objectives. The incumbent will create, refine, and integrate an effective communications strategy to stakeholders externally. This is a hands-on role, which will require the individual to leverage a thorough understanding of organizational strategy to develop, execute communications, and public relations programs/campaigns for all audiences and stakeholders, including, agents, and consumers. The successful candidate will also be responsible for leading an array of core communications activities including executive communications, public and media relations, crisis communications, issues management and employee communications.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supports and executes on the global strategic corporate communications strategy designed to establish a compelling marketplace story to promote, advance, influence and defend the company's image.

  • Collaborates with external team members to help Identify and seizes opportunities to communicate the company's values and core messages within the dedicated region including its commitment to the community and social responsibility both internally and externally across multiple audiences and stakeholders.

  • Works closely with the Marketing Team to develop public relations programs that will support and complement marketing campaigns to drive positive stories and communications globally.

  • Anticipates, identifies and mitigates communications and risk.

  • Provides development and distribution of written, oral and electronic communications to deliver the company story to a wide variety of external stakeholders by utilizing presentations, announcements, newsletters, speeches, meetings, town halls, webcasts and website as well as other communication opportunities defined by the organizational strategy.

  • Creates tools that measures and monitors the effectiveness of communications initiatives.

  • Develops and directs methodology to facilitate information sharing/collaboration among all branch offices.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor Degree

Experience

  • 8 years of communications, public relations, journalism experience.

Essential Skills

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Attention to detail and experience working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Broad knowledge of marketing and communication principles.

  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and change course as required.

  • Superior organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all levels of the organization as well as external contacts.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications.

  • Communications, Media or Public Relations, strongly preferred.

  • Blog, social voice, web content/story experience a plus.

Overall purpose: Responsible for providing communications support to AT&T's corporate Finance organization, including Investor Relations, Corporate Development (M&A), Treasury, Tax and External Reporting. May include creating messaging, press releases, speeches, internal communications and other related documents as well as overseeing research projects and managing issues related to AT&T's corporate reputation. Key Roles and Responsibilities: * Draft materials, including releases, messaging and reactive media responses, related to significant company events, including earnings announcements, mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance changes, executive presentations at analyst conferences and financial events such as dividend declarations. * Serve as a liaison between communications teams across the company and the Finance organization. Working with Investor Relations and Legal counsel on a daily or near-daily basis and other Finance groups less frequently. * Provide day-to-day support to internal clients by ensuring they are apprised of and have an opportunity to provide feedback on material news coming out of AT&T, both at the corporate and operating company level. * Provide support to media relations team to develop responses to inquiries related to financial and operational results, executive compensation, corporate governance and other topics, as necessary * Collaborate with Investor Relations to manage updates to the AT&T Investor Relations website and alerts to investors regarding material company news * Provide guidance to communicators across AT&T and its operating companies with regard to disclosure and quiet period policies * Work with stakeholders to update key, widely used company messaging on a quarterly basis * Conduct research, as needed, to enhance knowledge of potentially complex issues and support development of communications materials * Provide support for development of the AT&T annual report, including drafting copy and managing shareholder buy-in * Provide support for surveys and awards that pertain to AT&T's corporate reputation, including, but not limited to, the annual JUST Capital 100 rankings * Provide support for development of messaging related to executive compensation and corporate governance issues * As needed, provide support to manage corporate issues * As needed, staff and support events, including, AT&T annual meeting of shareholders and AT&T analyst conferences * Manage relationships with and act as a day-to-day point of contact for agency resources * Ensure internal clients are apprised of industry news as appropriate.
