Summary of the role:
The Corporate Communications team in the Americas is part of Corporate Marketing, Communications and Social Responsibility organization at Amadeus. This team is responsible for amplifying and protecting Amadeus' reputation and brand with market-specific insights and context. By adding a regional perspective, the team builds upon internal and external relationships so that Amadeus is presented as one company, with one voice.
The team's objectives are to (1) shape and manage corporate reputation among external audiences (media, analysts, influencers), (2) motivate and help employees in the Americas understand company strategy and the importance of their roles to the company, and (3) drive leader communication and executive visibility among internal and external audiences. This team plays a critical role in cultivating an organizational knowledge of Amadeus' objectives and purpose among internal and external audiences.
The Americas Communications intern will report to the Associate Manager, External Communications, North America with majority of time (80%) spent assisting with communication functions for North America external communications and remaining time (20%) assisting Americas internal communications and Latin America external communications.
The Americas Communications intern will learn, gain skills, and experience in the following areas:
Media relations
Communications standards in a corporate setting
Working with and providing direction to PR agency
Collaborating with communications partners on the global communications team
Interacting with business stakeholders throughout the company
How we work together to support Amadeus' business objectives
North America External Communications:
Assist in planning strategic communications projects
Assist in trafficking communications materials (example: drafts of press releases, blogs, bylines, etc.) through review levels
Share updates with PR agency about upcoming announcements and direction/request for media outreach list, media pitch, and potentially other materials
On weekly basis, update NORAM external comms activity tracker with PR agency
Monthly reporting including # of press releases, # of media interviews, # of media interactions, and # of articles in North America featuring or mentioning Amadeus
Upload press release materials as needed to AEM, the content management system used by the global and regional communications teams
Attend regular meetings with NORAM external communications teams including but not limited to:
Bi-monthly status call with PR agency
Bi-monthly global communications editorial meetings,
Briefing meetings with account teams
Pipeline calls with business areas
Internal communications:
Support with monitoring and maintaining the internal channels and platforms
Update and organize internal communications editorial calendar
Provide creative and strategic support in developing internal communication activities
LATAM external communications:
Support with media monitoring
Content development (articles/bylines)
Assist with positioning and thought leadership in Mexico
Education
Attending college/university studying communications, marketing and/or journalism.
