As a member of the small, fast-paced in-house corporate communications team, this role is responsible for helping tell the SVB story in traditional and social media channels. Responsibilities include tracking projects, writing, proofing, using social media monitoring tools, analysis, database management, administration, reporting and presentation development. This department handles external communications (public relations and social media) for all areas of the company, including corporate, product, community, government affairs and our various lines of business.
This position is part of the corporate communications team, supporting a variety of media relations and social media projects. Responsibilities include:
Public relations and social media activities as assigned
Maintaining and creating media lists and tracking media interactions
Assisting in monitoring social media channels; writing social posts as assigned
Assisting in scheduling media interviews and preparing briefing materials
Updating SVB's website with positive news coverage and press releases
Assisting with client deal press releases and social media promotions
Writing, proofing and editing as needed
Develop and deliver topic-specific, monthly and quarterly reports
Quarterly updates to About SVB material
Proactively manage team calendars and update company calendars with communications events/timing
Serve as a back-up for the PR Manager and Senior Social Media Associate
1-2 years agency or in-house PR and social media experience; agency experience preferred
Bachelor's degree in communication, public relations, marketing or related field
Understanding of B2B or professional services marketing (versus consumer brands)
Some experience with
Muckrack, Symscio or other media database
Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Hootsuite or other social media management software, and native social media platforms
Episerver or other Website CMS systems
Microsoft OneNote and Teams
Media relations experience
Fluency in digital and social media
Writing, editing and proofing skills
Reporting and data analysis skills
Strong research and analytical skills
Project management and organizational skills
Microsoft Office proficiency: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to multi-task and shift gears quickly; sense of urgency
