As the company is experiencing growth, we are looking for a Corporate Communication Director to join our robust Marketing team.

As the Corporate Communication Director, you will report to the Head of Marketing and serve as an integral member of the marketing leadership team. You will be responsible for the development of all public relations, analyst relations, social media, content strategy and assets development, company websites, as well as internal and external communications strategies. You will collaborate with the Executive team to develop and execute communications that advance corporate objectives. You will work with the Executive team in creating interest and awareness of company information, product announcements, mergers and acquisitions, issues management, and all public facing announcements.

This is currently a remote opportunity and are open to individuals outside of San Diego, CA. Note - if residence is outside of San Diego, you must be open to travelling one week every other month to Corporate office in San Diego, CA. Accepting remote applications from the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

The Position:

The Corporate Communication Director will help drive corporate growth and visibility within the local, regional, national, and worldwide business community. Objectives of the role include:

  • Successfully drive and develop new corporate marketing and communication opportunities.

  • Leverage, and expand media corporate partnerships while also fostering new relationships.

  • Strengthen AbacusNext's brand and establish us as an influential technology player in the professional services space (beginning with legal and accounting).

  • Develop an overall brand and content strategy, to create assets and brand collateral for global and local integrated media campaigns, sales enablement and promote to press, social influencers and VIPs.

  • Maintain the marketing assets repository.

  • Manage and evolve the company website strategy to boost online awareness and increase lead generation.

  • Develop and maintain successful working relationships with senior management team of AbacusNext, including in other offices.

  • Maintain industry contacts to keep Marketing/Sales/Development/Executive Management informed on leading industry trends, while monitoring the overall landscape for reputational risk for the company and our clients.

  • Become a trusted advisor to C-Suite executives seeking sound communications counsel on managing market positioning, reputational, brand and/or business impact.

  • Manage internal and external resources (contractors and agencies), plan, and budget accordingly.

  • Develop, cultivate, and extend media relations and drive a global earned, owned, paid, and social media campaign that reinforce AbacusNext narrative, value proposition, and product.

  • Monitor, track and report on plans and program effectiveness


  • 8+ years of experience in Business Marketing

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field is preferred

  • Demonstrated business development process

  • Ability to think creatively and strategically with a global perspective

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills that enable collaboration and team building

  • Exceptional presentation and writing skills

  • Ability to develop and track budgets

  • Seasoned knowledge and comfort in the Digital space

  • Able to gain credibility in the organization and the external market

  • Ability to effectively lead complex initiatives that require collaboration across lines

  • Ability to make sound decisions and drive forward in uncertain/ambiguous situations

  • Ability to set and achieve aggressive goals while knowing when to engage key stakeholders

  • Sound judgment and the capacity to accurately assess complicated situations
