Job Summary
Integr8staff islooking for a Corporate Attorney and Legal Counsel to handle litigation support to a corporate and well-established entity. Qualified candidates must have experience in a consumer goods environment.
Responsibilities:
Lead legal actions for and in protection of the organization
Represent the companies in various contracts and other negotiations and advise managers as needed in their negotiations;
Interest in regulatory and legislative issues affecting consumer goods industry; litigation reforms.
Legislative lobbying on behalf of company related to related product regulation.
Advise in general corporate and business matters as needed;
Supervise and coordinate with outside counsels as needed;
Advise in regulatory affairs as well as import and export requirements
Miscellaneous minor corporate governance matters;
Employment matters related to state and federal labor laws.
Requirements
Juris Doctor Degree, corporate field of study preferred.
High academic credentials and licensed to practice in California.
5-10 years of corporate law practice preferred.
Experience with complex financial, corporate transactions experience preferred.
Consumer goods experience preferred.
Excellent communication, leadership, and team-oriented skills.
Very strong courtroom skills, be an excellent arguer and must have convincing presence.
Oral presentation must be a strong suit as much as legal writing.
Mastery of state and federal Rules of Civil Procedure essential.

People or Process Management Responsibility: Yes Required Skills and Experience: * BA/BS Degree preferred in Human Resources, Occupational Safety & Health, Risk Management or related field required. * 2-3 years safety management and Workers' Compensation claims management experience * Experience in managing/implementing a successful company wellness program, including proposal development and program evaluation. * Understanding of wellness concepts, practices and procedures. * Experience within large warehouse, product distribution / trucking operations is preferred, but not required * Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills dealing with all levels of employees, customers, and management * Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and PowerPoint * Ability to facilitate training for all levels of employees, supervision and management * Self-starter with ability to follow-up and follow through and meet deadlines * Able to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team environment This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test. Preferred Skills and Experience: * Preferred certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) / Associate Safety Professional (ASP) * Strong technical knowledge and background in CAL OSHA/DOT regulatory standards, safety engineering, risk management and environmental protection Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: * Accountable for implementing and delivering results of corporate and company safety and risk management initiatives at both distributor locations * Examine all injury and accident reports, and assist supervisors with accident investigations to ensure accurate and timely reporting of all claim information to Third Party Administrator (TPA), and to mitigate future similar injuries. * Work with the TPA claims adjusters to ensure proper and efficient handling of Workers' Compensation, Auto Liability, and General Liability claims. Provide thorough follow-up with injured employees and maintain regular contact with TPA and Primary Treating Physicians to coordinate prompt return to work modified duty program. * Coordinate and participate in all work comp claim reviews * Strategic collaboration with management team and human resources on modified duty assignments, interactive process, and employment decisions. * Conduct training for managers, supervisors and employees on safe work practices, including: Back Injury Prevention, accident and injury prevention, hazard recognition and awareness, and regulatory compliance requirements. * Coordinate the planning, research, compliance and delivery of corporate wellness programs and services through collaboration with vendor partners, internal departments and other corporate staff and managers. * Develop and compile data to identify and monitor wellness and disease management guidelines and procedures to establish and achieve effective long-range goals and objectives. * Work closely with the Steering Committee at each location to maintain the wellness philosophy and strategy to ensure that it supports strategic goals. * Conduct safety meetings with key employees and management. Provide regular claim report data to management team and safety committee members, and follow-up on safety action items addressed in safety committee meetings. * Conduct risk assessments of location campus, warehouse, and risk issues identified out in the trade and recommend solutions to mitigate identified risks. * Develop and implement safety incentive (recognition) programs that drive reductions in injuries/accidents. * Review monthly program outcomes and program utilization reports, make recommendations to enhance participation of current programs and to develop/execute new programs. * Completes and finishes other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring maximum participation in the wellness programs.
