This is a part-time intern position, starting Jan/Feb 2020 with possibility of full time during the summer.

JOB OBJECTIVE: The Corporate Archive Intern will support ongoing preservation of digital and physical assets that capture Promega's history and culture. This role will work under the guidance of the Strategic Information Partner and in collaboration with the Digital Asset Manager.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:1. Support ongoing preservation of digital and physical assets in accordance with established guidelines and workflows.
2.Assist in accepting, processing, and cataloging physical asset donations.3. Help move physical assets between buildings on company campus. 4. Process and catalog collection backlog.
5.Scan and catalog digitized print assets in Digital Asset Management System.6. Upload and/or migrate digital assets in DAM and catalog using metadata templates and tagging protocols.

OCCASIONAL DUTIES:1. Collaborate with other media asset management users in other departments.
2.Help to identify and clean up irrelevant data in DAM and physical archives.

Enrolled in a graduate degree program and have completed graduate course work in archival, library, or information management, and/or graduate course work in Museum Studies, Public History, or another related discipline. 2. As the official archives for the company, materials must have accurate, organized and detailed information.
3.Continue to develop emotional intelligence and is able to demonstrate empathy and understanding in daily communication and interactions.
4.Solid communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
5.Ability to analyze project requirements and report on work progress.
6.Proficiency with computers and basic level of proficiency in working with new technical equipment.
7.Ability to work independently with moderate supervision and with other team members in a cooperative manner.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:1. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, Photoshop and Digital Asset Management systems.2. Customer service etiquette.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:1. Ability to work with computer, audio-visual and other technology equipment.
2.Ability to occasionally move boxes weighing up to 40 pounds.

Our internship program is designed to provide meaningful work by providing hands-on, authentic, professional experiences. About the Team The Corporate Governance Division monitors quantitative and qualitative governance factors of SWIB's equity investments. The division 1) develops guidelines in consultation with SWIB equity staff to direct proxy voting efforts; 2) votes SWIB proxies in accordance with established guidelines; 3) coordinates and participates in engagement efforts with publicly traded corporations; and 4) researches and analyzes trends in regulations and corporate structures. Research and data cover a broad range of topics including but not limited to; executive compensation structure and incentive alignment, corporate environmental initiatives, and boardroom diversity and independence. The Corporate Governance Team is excited to host an associate candidate for the summer of 2020 with the potential of continuing the internship during the school year. The selected candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks to help support day-to-day responsibilities, projects, and research. This position requires analyzing findings and quantifying large data sets. Essential activities: * Research legislation and other developments impacting governance practices at publicly traded corporations in domestic and international markets. * Collect and organize director, proxy voting, and other governance data points found in proxy filings. Data includes but is not limited to SWIB and shareholder voting trends, executive compensation components, and board member characteristics. * Summarize academic studies and white paper research when needed. * Assist with data organization of historical data sets supporting proxy voting analysis. * Summarizing individual company governance profiles and policies using internal and third-party data. * Research and identify material environmental, social and governance factors. * Develop summery governance statistics using tables and graphs. * Organize and merge data sets to aid in the internal distribution of information. * Help monitor and author correspondence with outside stakeholders. * Support other team projects as assigned. The Ideal candidate: * Ability to work in Madison, WI for an approximate 10-week period beginning late May/early June 2020. * Currently pursuing a bachelors degree in political science, law, business, economics, public policy or related field. * Experience conducting research using various resources. * Excellent organizational and time management skills. * Excellent attention to detail. * Excellent oral/written and interpersonal communication skills. * Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook. * Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc.). * Ability to prepare clear and concise documentation. * Ability to multitask and work independently.
