Corporal, Police Services - Bulletin #186-24

• 3 years of full-time experience as a peace officer with a P.O.S.T. agency.

• Possession of a P.O.S.T. Basic Certificate

• At time of employment, must be eligible (either in years of service and or in education) to attain a P.O.S.T. Intermediate Certificate within 24 months of employment.

• Meet legal requirements for possession of a concealable firearm

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Valid California driver's license

• Completion of a higher education degree with major course work in police science, law enforcement, criminal justice or a related field. BENEFITS PACKAGE FOR SWORN POSITIONS:

• PERS 3% @ 50 for Classic PERS Members and new members as of January 1, 2013 will participate in the 2.7% @ 57 formula (9% currently paid by employee, 9% matching contribution by FUSD) - Full Medical/Vision/Dental insurance for employee and dependents; 0 contribution by employee.

• 130 hours of paid holiday per year

• P.O.S.T incentive pay for intermediate/advanced certificates (5% and 7%, non- cumulative, respectively).

• 96 hours of vacation per year (additional time accrued beginning with 5th and 11th years of service).

• 96 hours of sick leave per year.

• Life insurance policy paid by FUSD, upgradeable to $300,000 at nominal cost.

• Plan 125 available.

• Longevity incentives - $1,000 per year uniform allowance
