Title: Corporate Data Analyst

Reports To: AVP Data Management & Analytics

FLSA Status: Exempt

Purpose: The Corporate Data Analyst will join the Data Management and Analytics team as a key catalyst to advance and implement the company's analytic agenda and capabilities to measure, interpret and report quality and clinical performance throughout Nuvance Health. This is an exciting and challenging role supporting the AVP of Data Management and Analytics, the Chief Information Officer and the Vice-Presidents of Primary Care / Population Health in providing analysis, reporting, and presentations to guide data-driven decisions and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization. The position requires strong analytic, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills that enable them to collaborate effectively across the organization to achieve organizational goals. The Analyst will serve as a key data liaison to all healthcare services, nursing, clinical, and administrative departments and committees throughout Nuvance Health.

Essential Responsibilities (Ideally there will be 8-10 TOTAL. Including the 3 below which are required. The MAX allowed is 15 responsibilities.)

1.Works under the direction of AVP Data Management & Analytics to align data measurement and performance across service lines and practices, supporting the quality performance goals established by the Board and executive leadership for the fiscal year.

2.Develop, manage, and distribute data and reports to internal and external customers, supporting quality, performance improvement, and strategic initiatives.

3.Perform in-depth analysis of large data sets and provide reports, presentations, and recommendations to enhance patient care and reduce risk. Responsible for attending various types of meetings at different campuses as required.

4.Partner with the local departments and clinical champions to identify improvement opportunities and provide analysis to support efforts.

5.Develop and automate analytical tools and outputs that inform and give strategic insight.

6.Develop, refine, and manage statistical models that predict performance and value, and translate predictive statistical insights into actionable items for the organization.

7.Support the leadership team to manage quality and patient safety performance, and audits progress towards goals. Assists in developing insightful communications to share with internal/external stakeholders.

8.Builds strong relationships with leadership, hospital champions, and peers. Communicates appropriately and effectively with stakeholders at all levels, maintaining awareness of any issues or concerns that may affect the performance with supported programs, processes, and systems.

9.Provide support with data mining and analytics for assigned projects and initiatives



  1. Maintain knowledge of healthcare industry trends related to quality and data management, performance improvement, patient safety, the relationship between reimbursement and performance, and the public reporting of clinical performance data

  2. Develop a strong working relationship with IT and users to ensure data integrity and build trust in presented reports

  3. Stay informed of key quality developments via CMS' proposed / final rules, professional organizations, managed care contracts, and industry standards. Share findings with appropriate stakeholders.

  4. Maintain and Model Nuvance Health Values.

  5. Demonstrates regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.

  6. Performs other duties as required.


Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate in Healthcare Management, Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Operations or other related areas.

  • 4+ years working in an analytical role that includes deriving and communicating insights, as well as applying statistical analysis, preferably with a healthcare focus.

  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) designation, or health-care-related advanced certification.

  • Experience with Cerner, Population Health, Arcadia

  • Certification in Lean-Sigma as an improvement methodology

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
  • Experience working with statistical or business intelligence tools such as Excel, Tableau, Qlikview, Mini-Tab, or other data analytics software

  • Business analysis/project management principles (requirements gathering, documentation, expectation management)

  • Working knowledge of applied statistics, including mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference as well as apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • 4+ years direct experience in working with health care data, and performing comprehensive drill-down analyses from both a clinical (diagnostic, procedural, provider type), and business (network, market, risk type) perspective within the healthcare environment

  • Tableau experience preferred

  • Ability to partner with executive stakeholders and customers

License, Registration, or Certification Requirements:
  • Advanced certification in Tableau preferred

Summary: The Clinical Lead LPN works with the clinical staff, physicians and advanced practitioners in the coordination of assigned staff, equipment and resources to facilitate smooth daily operational flow. They optimize patient care and direct and assist the assigned staff in their daily work processes. Span of Control to include LPN's and potentially MA's (Dependent on Practice Structure). Responsibilities: Patient check-in, document chief complaint, vital signs, history, capture charges for provision of ancillary services, assists with the completion of patient summaries, medication/allergy, history forms, and obtain appropriate treatment consents. * Administer and document injections, dispense and document medications as directed by physician/provider. Label and handle labs, paps, cultures, biopsies and other specimens, prepare laboratory and imaging requisitions. * Assist with coordination of further patient care and follow-up and carry out tasks as directed by RN and/or physician/provider. This may include communication with patient, hospital, labs, imaging centers, pharmacies, physician offices, insurance plans. * Participates in the triage process by collecting pertinent data and information. Presents information to the provider for disposition. Communicates this disposition to the patient. * Measures and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) in conjunction with the Practice Leadership.
