Job Description:

BlackRock's Fixed Income team manages more than $1 trillion in global fixed income assets across active long-only, index, alternative, and liability driven strategies. The platform offers fixed income investors one of the industry's broadest array of investment choices across fundamental and model-based investment styles.

BlackRock is seeking a candidate to join the CorePM team as a Securitized Portfolio Manager.


  • Manage the securitized allocation of portfolios to reach performance targets within risk tolerances and constraints, while complying with client/fund guidelines, restrictions, and gain/loss budgets.

  • Work with Lead PMs, Traders, and Credit Research to synthesize optimal allocations and investment strategies for a variety of fixed income accounts (total return, book yield, income-focused).

  • Develop expertise in ABS, CMBS, CLO, RMBS and agency MBS structures and markets.

  • Enhance portfolio management processes and build customized solutions using Python or other programming languages.

  • Raise orders to implement and maintain portfolio positioning. Work with Trading to monitor execution.

  • Partner with Client Teams and Product Strategy to answer client inquiry.


  • BA/BS required. Progress toward CFA a plus.

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience. Experience with investing, trading, or analyzing Fixed Income markets/products is desired. Experience with Securitized Assets a plus.

  • Python, SQL, and R experience a strong plus. Experience with Aladdin also a plus.

  • Knowledge of financial institution / insurance client portfolio management a plus (e.g. accounting considerations, income or yield-focused mandate management)

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing market environments and perform under tight time constraints.

  • Strong problem solving skills and diligent attention to detail.

  • Strong communication skills and teamwork capacity.
