DESCRIPTION

Job summary

We are the Talent Experience Team for Amazon's Global Media and Entertainment (GME) business. Our purpose is to create and deliver talent programs that help us be Earth's Best Employer by focusing on the employee experience - from joining Amazon Entertainment, to building connection with each other and our customers, through growing personally and professionally, to being empowered to balance fun, wellness, and learning to sustain a long, fulfilling career with Amazon.

Talent Management is a critical priority for GME and to continue building the world's most advanced workforces in Media and Entertainment, Amazon is seeking a Talent Programs Leader to deliver and continuously improve our talent processes. Working with a GME Core Talent leader, this role will go deep in our Prime Video & Studios businesses and become the expert for our talent needs for the technical community across GME.

This role requires dealing with a high level of ambiguity and feeling comfortable operating in a space with little direction for solving hard, complex talent and organizational business problems. There is no opportunity in this role to outsource work to external consultants so candidates must have strong ownership, grit, and drive for results.

You will understand how to balance analytical decisions with creativity, while still emphasizing the voice of the customer across a worldwide employee base. This role will suit a strong and structured written and verbal communicator, who must have the ability gather business requirements and partner with the various stakeholders to plan, implement, and improve solutions.

Key job responsibilities

This role's responsibilities will include building and continuously evolving GME's talent reviews and cyclical processes, for example succession planning and promotion processes, all in close partnership with HR Business Partners, Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity leaders, business leaders, analytics teams, and central Amazon talent leads. You will build alignment and deliver the cyclical talent management processes. Overall, you will ensure that we are constantly improving and scale the services we provide to our partner teams to execute talent processes at all levels of the organization.

A day in the life

This leader will quickly earn trust with GME HR peers and business line leaders, and get deep in understanding specific areas of the business related to Prime Video and Studios and tech across GME. You will also forge cross-Amazon alliances and partnerships with Talent Management peers and within central Amazon HR and Talent teams. Medium term projects may include: evolving approaches to talent management for GME talent, developing relevant internal communications mechanisms, and rethinking and redesigning talent management for creatives and video technologists.

About the team

Amazon's Global Media & Entertainment (GME) team, which comprises five distinct Amazon businesses - Prime Video & Studios (PVS), Games, Music, Twitch, and Audible - has changed the way in which millions of customers interact with content worldwide. While our remit is expansive, spanning original and exclusive programs to live sporting to a 75 million songs ad-free library, our vision remains consistent: to deliver high-quality entertainment to Amazon customers worldwide.

Our teams lead gratifying projects; recent highlights include Games' launch of the much anticipated 'New World,' our production arm developing original content such as The Marvelous Mrs.

Maisel and Fleabag and with Amazon Music, Prime members have access to ad-free listening of 2 million songs at no additional cost to their membership.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Organization Behavior, Business Management or related field from an accredited college or university.

  • 6+ years of HR experience in a fast-paced environment working in HR, Talent Management, Learning & Development, and/or Project Management roles.

  • Knowledge of program management lifecycle and project management tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must be energized by building and navigating ambiguity. We need someone who is self-driven, possesses a high degree of ownership, has a strong program management aptitude, is excellent at business writing, thrives in a fast-paced, high growth environment, and values a highly collaborative approach with partner teams.
