Compensation: WA $71,555

Status: Flexible Start Summer 2024

Antioch University Seattle invites applications for a full-time Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) faculty member to join our progressive team in campus-based program. The CMHC Program is a CACREP-accredited program that is part of Antioch University The mission of Antioch University is to provide learner-centered education to empower students with the knowledge and skills to lead meaningful lives and to advance social, economic, and environmental justice. The CMHC program is offered in two platforms - one that is predominantly a residential platform for students located in the Seattle region, and one that is a low residency platform with online course work and a minimum of two required intensive residency experiences in Fall and Spring. While this position will be a campus-based position, there will be an opportunity to work in the low residency program during their week long residencies in Seattle twice a year.

In alignment with Antioch's mission, the CMHC program at AU is committed to experiential learning, social justice, extensive clinical training, scholarship, and the use of creative, progressive and applied approaches. AU has been educating counselors for over 40 years and has a network of alumni throughout the country, who serve as many of our field supervisors and employers. Faculty are expected to engage in pedagogy and practices that reflect the social justice mission of the university.

Position Overview

The position has responsibilities that include:

  • Direct instruction of 24 quarter credits per academic year and engaging in student advising

  • Meeting university expectations in scholarship, service to the profession, and institutional citizenship

  • Engaging in program, department, campus, and school/university citizenship

  • Engaging in ongoing department and program initiatives, particularly related to improvements in pedagogy and student engagement

  • Incorporating a social justice lens into pedagogical, content, and clinical approaches

Educational and Experiential Requirements and Qualifications

  • At least two years of clinical supervision experience

  • An earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution in counselor education and supervision (CACREP-accredited program preferred)

  • Professional counselor credentials (e.g., NCC or state licensure),

  • Graduate teaching experience

  • Commitment to social justice and advocacy underpinned by the American Counseling Association's (2015) Multicultural and Social Justice Counseling Competencies

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Expertise in online pedagogy specific to clinical training programs

  • Knowledge of CACREP Standards and program evaluation
