LKQ Corporation (NASDAQ: LKQ), the largest nationwide provider of recycled replacement automotive parts has an immediate opening for a Automotive Headlight/Taillight Core Buyer based out of the Milwaukee, WI area. This is a remote position and will require travel throughout the state of WI and possibly nearby states. There is an initial two week long training period which will be split between the Remanufacturing facility in Michigan and hands on field training with our Supervisor.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can work self directed on a daily basis and manage our current and potential vendor base in Milwaukee/Madison and surrounding markets. Successful Candidate will be required to make multiple stops at current and potential vendors within the Milwaukee/Madison Market on a daily basis. Candidate will purchase Headlight and Taillight cores, negotiate purchase price and provide proper documentation of the purchase. Candidate will be required to document and package the product for transportation, communicating the shipping and costing information to the manufacturing facility.


  • Ability to pre-plan daily routes and calls.

  • Identification and procurement of used automotive headlight & taillight cores from body shops and salvage yards

  • Actively maintain a call list

  • Maintain working relationships with vendors

  • Cold calling new or inactive vendors

  • Maintain high ethical standards

  • Record keeping of purchases and relevant documentation

  • Keeping communications with supervisor's and office personnel regarding loads and questions

  • Assumes other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

This person must reside in the Milwaukee/Madison Wisconsin area. Must have the ability to travel as needed (Overnights & 2 week long training period); additional travel as needed for perspective clientele.


  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Travel Monday -- Friday, occasional weekends

  • Good communication, organizational & sales skills

  • Desire to reach out to hundreds of potential suppliers

  • Working Knowledge at Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, ability to use smartphone & tablet searches

  • Ability to communicate with new and potential vendors to provide the best service possible.

  • Clean driving record

  • Must be able to pass Criminal background check and mandatory Drug Screening

  • Up to 25% overnight travel to another market may be required on a monthly basis

  • Ability to distinguish between repairable & non-repairable light cores

  • Must be able to meet the set deadlines and expectations for the position

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.

  • Requires continuous physical effort; repetitive motion work. Standing, sitting, bending, driving and walking occasionally for long periods of time.

  • Lifts, pushes, pull an average of 80lbs occasionally, 10-20lbs consistently.

  • Exposure to atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes, varying temperature. Exposure to different noise levels and various chemicals.
