Job Summary:

Responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing programs/activities that allow members to feel empowered to make healthy choices, have medically accurate knowledge regarding adolescent development, learn methods to cope with stress, bullying and trauma, and a stronger sense of pride and responsibility related to their self-image and esteem. These programs include but not limited to health & hygiene; bullying prevention; drug, tobacco & alcohol prevention; teen pregnancy prevention; conflict resolution and social, emotional learning.

  • Demonstrate and communicate the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee (BGCGM) philosophy, objectives, standards and programs through all methods available to members, their parents, and the general public. Provide quality program activities that are inclusive, welcoming, respectful and responsive to the diversity of members, families and community.

Youth Leadership and Engagement

  • Provide quality program activities and experiences that promote a sense of purpose and individual empowerment for members to practice and develop leadership skills, make meaningful choices during activities, support members to develop skills in decision making, planning and goal setting skills.

  • Promote and support members initiated and member lead activities. Foster an environment that offers choices, incorporates team building and promotes a sense of belonging and group identity for members.

Program Activity Planning and Implementation

  • Coordinate program activities in accordance with selected curricula that supports program goals and incorporates the needs and interests of members.

  • Responsible for regularly gathering information and feedback from members about their needs and interests.

Safe Positive Environment

  • Understands and follows the BGCGM Member Care Manual policies and procedures to include but not limited to conduct of member policies, supervision of members policies, employee to member policies, member safety polices, child abuse and neglect policies, member health policies, transportation and field trips policies, the club safety/contingency plan, and the procedures for reporting incidents/accidents during program hours.

  • Keeps accurate attendance, tracks member participation in assigned program areas, documents results and progress of members. Generate monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reports as requested.

Collaborations and Partnerships

  • Provide opportunities to engage and support the families of members, build reciprocal relationships with communities, volunteers and organizations to support program goals.

Professionalism/Professional Development

  • Demonstrate commitment to one's own learning, skill building and professionalism on the job by following BGCGM code of conduct and employee handbook, supporting colleagues, sharing duties and working collaboratively, and active participation in meetings.

VIEW JOBS 10/13/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-11T00:00 Area of Concern Program Supervisor Position Type: Full-time, Salary Department: Parks Compensation Range: $59,008 -$70,721/yrClosing Date: October 24, 2019 @ 5:59pm CST Job Summary: This position focuses on facilitating the implementation and installation of projects for Milwaukee County Parks (MCP) and partner organizations on County-owned property within the Milwaukee River Estuary Area of Concern (AOC) focus area. The goal is delisting the AOC's Biological Use Impairments. Job Responsibilities * Program Coordination - Serves as the Parks primary liaison to all AOC work groups and projects. Facilitates regular, internal and external communications, and coordination across diverse AOC-related initiatives. * Project Oversight - Field supervision of ecological restoration and management projects conducted by County staff, contractors, and third parties on County-owned property. Ensures sensitive natural resources are protected and projects are implemented according to specifications. * Data Collection - Assists with undertaking natural resource field assessments (flora and habitat surveys) to determine project prioritization for critical species habitat management, species preservation, and potential for native species reintroductions. * Administrative Duties - All record keeping duties as they relate to project communications, contracts, purchasing, reports, right-of-entry permits, state and federal permits, and requests for proposals. Also responsible for all other administrative duties associated with Wisconsin DNR and EPA requirements. * Public Outreach - Facilitates community outreach events prior to project implementations and after completion. Coordinates with Parks staff to manage social media posts, respond to emails, phone calls, media requests, and disseminating information on the MCP webpage. * Planning - Development of ecological restorations and management plans for MCP properties within the AOC. Prepares inspection reports, permits, and enforces County standard practices. Reviews plans, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates. * Land Management - Participates in on-the-ground implementation of Parks' ecological restoration projects including but not limited to: invasive species removal, wildlife habitat management, reforestation, prairie establishment, and other land management duties as directed by the Natural Areas Coordinator. * Partnership Management - Point of contact for all AOC third party project requests on MCP properties. * Ability to safely and properly operate: vehicles, motorized equipment, and land management equipment. * Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 30 lbs. * Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Required Education, License/Certification and Experience * Current residency within the State of Wisconsin required * Valid Wisconsin Driver's License required and must be maintained throughout incumbency * Bachlors degree or higher in Natural Sciences or closely related field required * Three (3) years or more work experience in Natural Sciences required * One (1) year or more work experience in a Supervisory or Management role required * GIS certification preferred * Previous program management work experience preferred PG29 Org:9000 RV Note: This Original Examination is open to current residents of the state of Wisconsin.
