POSITION SUMMARY:The role of a Copy Supervisor is to produce creative and strategic solutions with a fresh perspective. You will be expected to understand FDA regulations for pharmaceutical copy, and youll define scientific and creative platforms for brands. Additionally, you will participate in market research, client discussions and presentations, and industry conventions. This is a highly collaborative role and the Copy Supervisor is expected to partner seamlessly with account, strategy, project management, editorial, production and, of course, art/design.

Additionally, the Copy Supervisor is responsible for the creative work produced by assigned copywriters. Along with the Associate Creative Director, the Copy Supervisor is responsible for contributing to the performance reviews of assigned copywriters.

A portfolio of work must be submitted with your application (via a website or file sharing link, or an additional attachment) to be considered for this position. Work submitted must reflect pharmaceutical experience.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Master a knowledge of assigned brand, disease state and market
  • Adhere to client regulatory and approval processes
  • Fully participate in strategic efforts including the development of the creative brief and market research
  • Understand the objective (client and account team rationale) for tactical elements
  • Actively participate in and contribute to concepting and ideation sessions
  • Work closely with art/design partner to generate original concepts that reflect the assigned brands positioning
  • Develop a variety of concepts for each assignment that display diversity between them attacking the creative problem from different points of view while still being consistent with the footprint and selling strategy
  • Discuss and defend concepts to the brand creative team
  • Provide ideas and/or solutions to issues as they arise that may be outside the original scope of work (ex. big ideas, interactive or video solutions)
  • Produce the best creative solution within the estimated budget
  • Ensure that the day-to-day expectations of the client are met by being prompt with deadlines


  • Completed Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum 4 years of copywriting experience
  • Minimum 2 year in a copywriter role within a pharmaceutical advertising agency or medical communications agency
  • Previous mentorship or supervisory experience, a plus
  • Strong understanding of FDA regulations
  • Able to work in a collaborative environment
  • High degree of autonomy while still keeping senior-level creative team informed of pertinent changes and needs
  • Able to cultivate relationships with the client by attending and participating in client meetings
  • Able to handle and prioritize multiple projects
  • Confident presenting creative work to clients
  • Must be proactive in researching new data and studies and expanding knowledge of industry trends
  • Portfolio must reflect pharmaceutical copywriting experience
