POSITION TITLE: Traffic Coordinator

REPORTING TO: Senior Logistics Coordinator

LOCATION: Bethlehem, PA

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Summary:

The role of a Traffic Coordinator is critical in ensuring efficient delivery of goods, coordinating with drivers, managing schedules, driver routing and resolving issues. Their expertise and coordination are essential for seamless operations and customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

● Route and delivery planning for drivers, with the understanding of FMCSA hours of service.

● Coordinating with warehouses, shipping docks, and customers to arrange for efficient loading and unloading of freight.

● Understanding of LTL, FTL and Consolidation Freight Transport

● Communicating with drivers via phone, email, or direct communication to provide pickup and delivery instructions, update on traffic conditions, and address any issues or delays.

● Maintaining strong relationships with drivers and addressing their concerns or needs, serving as a point of contact between drivers and the company.

● Utilizing computer software and transportation management systems (TMS) to streamline dispatching processes and optimize resource utilization.

● Understands the coordination of maintenance for the fleet and scheduling of same

● Understanding of exporting of material and document flows

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

● 1-3 years of relevant work experience

● Experience interacting with Private Fleet Drivers

● Previous experience with TMS system preferred

● SAP experience is preferred

● Understanding of FMCSA rules and regulations

● Strong Computer Skills including Microsoft Office/ Google

● Good oral & written communication skills

● Strong data analysis skills

● Excellent communication via written skills

● Detail & results oriented

● Ability to work in a fast paced environment

● Ability to work with deadlines and independently

● Prior experience in Logistics/ Transportation is preferred

● Demonstrated solving problem skills

● Creative thinking with emphasis on developing innovative solutions

● Strong Organizational Skills (creating and keeping goals / managing appointments)
