Utah Valley University is seeking a Transfer Student Support Coordinator! Working under the direction of the Associate Director of New Student & Family Programs, the Program Coordinator directly supports and counsels transfer students from the point of admission throughout their time at UVU. The transfer coordinator works as a partner with transfer students to deliver coordinated care to help students connect with existing campus resources such as financial aid and advising. This position will be responsible for tracking and developing relationships with transfer students to ensure they make progress to completion. This position will work closely with the Office of Orientation, Adult Learner Initiative, Veteran Success Center, and other campus resources to implement transfer student focused on-campus orientations (Jumpstarts) and other events.  .

  • Strategic and Personalized Outreach: Deploy timely personalized outreach campaigns designed to further the persistence and success of transfer students, including initial outreach and regular follow up. Work with UVU Admissions to develop a soft handoff after students are admitted. Work with UVU Registrar to build an understanding of articulation barriers that transfer students may face and be ready to address those with students. Develop just-in-time resource campaigns that can be delivered throughout the academic year geared to supporting new students and helping them build affinity to UVU.

  • Initiatives and Events: Collaborate with departments and areas across campus on student success initiatives designed to assist transfer students overcome barriers. Plan and execute transfer student specific program through the year, including Jumpstart orientation tailored to these unique students. Work directly with the Orientation Program Manager to make sure all orientation offerings (online orientation, Jumpstarts, etc.) are addressing the specific needs of incoming transfer students. Collaborate directly with other resources that serve non-traditional students at UVU (Veteran Success, Adult Learner Initiative, UVU Online, etc.)

  • Transfer Student Data Management (20%) Develop and maintain student outreach data and tracking through the student success management system. Conduct and monitor survey data to identify barriers to transfer student success and completion. Regularly transcribe data in a digestible manner and present it to campus entities as needed. Collaborate with UVU BIRS teams to collect and store transfer student data.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required, plus two years of experience related to the job description.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in related field.

  • Spanish and multi-lingual proficiency allows us to better serve our student

Knowledge

  • Knowledgeable and familiar with customer relationship management.

  • Knowledgeable and familiar with student development theory and practices.

  • Knowledge of relationships between manual and automated processes.

  • Knowledge of confidentiality requirements regarding FERPA regulations.

  • Knowledge of Banner student data management and best practices preferred.

  • Knowledge of UVU processes, resources, and values.
