ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Student Success division at the University of South Florida, is comprised of 61 departments, providing students with academic support, engagement opportunities, health & wellness services and enhancement of the educational experience. The Office of Admissions is responsible for recruitment, admission, and enrollment of domestic and international and graduate students at the University or South Florida. Over 100,000 admission applications (70,000 freshman, 20,000 transfer, and 20,000 graduate) are processed and evaluated each year, augmented by academic credentials (e.g., high school and/or post-secondary transcripts, test scores, residency affidavits, etc.) for each applicant.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Coordinator, Student Outreach & Access serves as a university wide liaison between educational partners and the community, academic programs, and Student Services programs; plans and implements outreach activities in collaboration with high school representatives and community partners; participates in the development and implementation of the on-boarding process and completion of success steps for prospective students; gathers data and prepares reports related to enrollment and outreach activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates and participates in outreach and access activities for the community and university partners with a focus on diversity; provides information on student success programs and services; coordinates campus and site tours and visits partners and community agencies. Conduct meetings, conferences, and special events on and office campus.
Researches, develops, and maintains programmatic relevance related to trends and shifts in student demographics. Prepares reports related to outreach activities, enrollment, and high school yield rates.
Supports outreach and access efforts on behalf of various initiatives and categorical programs; collaborates on outreach efforts with instructional departments may provide support to the community and university partners.
Works collaboratively with university faculty and staff, departments, and community partners. Serves as a lead worker to other classified staff in the area. Maintain effective communication with feeder schools and Community Based
Organizations.
Propose new ideas, plans and implement events and workshops with educational partners, prospective students, and community agencies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree and three years of directly related work experience in Admissions or other related field; or a master's degree and one year of directly related work experience in Admissions or another related field.
FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.
PREFERRED:
Master's degree and one year of experience in Admissions or related field
