Exempt Evaluation Bibb Evaluation Instrument (BEI 23 24) Prepared Date: May 9, 2019 Revised date: February 2024 JOB SUMMARY Under the direction of the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning, the School Improvement Coordinator will oversee and manage the implementation of the 6-12 Mathematics academic programming, curricula, and formative assessment system to help the Bibb County School District accelerate student achievement.

The School Improvement Coordinator will ensure that academic programs are established to ensure all students are college and career ready. The coordinator will provide leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of 6-12 Mathematics initiatives, and oversee the instruction in area of 6-12 Mathematics. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Facilitates district Curriculum writing including common assessments and scoring rubrics.

Facilitates the math textbook and resource adoption process. Collaborates with the Professional Development office to provide appropriate training for teachers. Collaborates with the Response to Intervention Coordinator on instruction and strategies for intervention and remediation as it relates to 6-12 Mathematics.

Assists District Intervention Coaches on instruction and strategies in 6-12 Mathematics to support school academic coaches with their school improvement plan and coaching cycles with teachers. Facilitates curriculum development centered on the district school improvement initiatives. Analyzes data to evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum and teaching methods.

Ensures that the school curriculum is aligned with Georgia's Mathematics Standards. Exhibits a knowledgeable, passionate, and enthusiastic commitment to continuous student improvement with a focus on the district's instructional priorities. Attends all instructional committee meetings and Board meetings.

Reports to the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning regarding benchmarks, progress assessments, instructional management data & progress toward meeting goals. Provides instructional support and assistance to schools through classroom observations and regular meetings with administrators and teachers. Assists schools with their school improvement plan through the use of various sources of data.

Keeps informed of State Board of Education policy and standards as related to 6-12 mathematics instruction and ensures that local policy and practice are being implemented. Performs other related duties as required or assigned. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Must possess a minimum of a master's degree.

Coursework in Mathematics curriculum is required. Minimum of (5) years of successful teaching experience in math is required. Teacher Support and Coaching endorsement and coaching experience is desirable.

Administrative or supervisory experience is desirable. Experience in using instructional technology is required. KNOWLDEGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to complete assignments and reports, along with preparing presentations for the public. Ability to balance several job functions at one time and work under a heavy work load. Must be capable of interacting effectively with administrators, teachers, staff members, and the general public using tactful and helpful customer service.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid Georgia certification in the field of Mathematics. Valid (or be eligible for) Georgia certification in the field of Educational Leadership. Valid GaPSC Teacher Support and Coaching endorsement (strongly preferred) PHYSICAL DEMANDS Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions. Requires some travel and extended work hours.
