Job Description:
Position Overview
The Sales Coordinator position is responsible for processing orders, arranging transportation, and organizing the movement of inventory for warehouses and co-production facilities. In support of the sales function, this position builds customer relationships, provides extraordinary service, and ensures that adequate levels of inventory are available for distribution to customers in a manner that maximizes efficiency, and minimizes freight and storage cost.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately maintain customer inventory and ordering systems to ensure system integrity. Develop and maintain the divisional database to ensure all information is accurate and timely for the use of servicing current and creating new customer procedures.
Monitor and select truckload and LTL carriers based on competitive freight rate information so as to effectively control freight and storage costs.
Work closely with accounting and outside carriers to resolve freight claims and carrier issues. Process internal transfer orders, inbound raw materials and direct shipments to customer and arrange transportation to ensure product availability at all facilities to better accommodate customers.
Provide outstanding customer service and coordinate logistics for all assigned accounts, coordinating transportation on customer websites.
Establish guidelines for International shipments, handling shipments with brokers and freight forwarders.
Manage systems data and generate regular and ad hoc reports in support of the business unit, to track customer service metrics, and to maintain monthly storage costs.
