Position summary:#The Revenue Cycle Education Coordinator is primarily responsible for the training of new Patient Access Representativesand Patient Account Representatives.
This position leads and develops ongoing training and education materials relativeto the patient access role and revenue management follow up role.
The Revenue Cycle Education Coordinator supports anumber of front end initiatives, process improvements, PA audits and overall performance of the front end operations andthe revenue cycle process of revenue management. Develops professional, creative, and engaging training contentmaterials for Patient Registration, both hospital based and OP Center based, all functional areas of the Business Office,and Physician Office practices based on most current knowledge of widely accepted best practices for adult learning andjob training.
Conducts online learning courses, classroom training, in-service training, post training job performanceassessments, and focused re-training of employees.
Demonstrates professional leadership skills in verbal, written, andinterpersonal communications and relationships. Works autonomously to manage assigned projects, tasks, trainingcourses scheduled to complete to desired outcome in required timeframe, using appropriate judgment and decisionmaking and demonstrating resourcefulness.
Functional areas supported:
Pre-registration, Registration (Hospital,Outpatient Centers, Financial Counseling, Denials Management, Audit, Collections, Customer Service, Reimbursement,Self-Pay Collections, Insurance Verifications, Financial Assistance, and any other Revenue Cycle functions. May performother duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years experience of healthcare revenue cycle experience in area relevant to assigned area(Patient Access or Business Office). Prior experience in Registration, Scheduling, Eligibility, Follow Up, or Billing isrequired with the ability to articulate understanding of these processes as they relate to the revenue cycle.
Knowledge ofRevenue Management. Excellent oral and written communication skills to produce and deliver quality training, includingthe ability to produce documents with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence structure, punctuation andgrammar. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong, collaborative relationships with individuals fromvarious levels of the organization.
