JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Sheetz Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence is seeking a Student Coordinator of Entrepreneurship Programs to support the day-to-day operations and desired growth of the Sheetz Fellows and other Sheetz Center programming. Reporting to the Executive Director of the Sheetz Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence, the successful candidate will:
Engage with members of the Penn State Altoona and local community through programming that better prepares students for their entrepreneurial careers.
Collaborate with and support the Executive Director of The Sheetz Center and facilitating classes, workshops, and programs for Sheetz Fellows, entrepreneurship students, faculty and staff.
Initiate, plan, and oversee entrepreneurship and Sheetz Fellows events.
Provide student services such as advising, building resumes, and resume critiques.
Participate in strategic planning for future growth of the Entrepreneurship and Sheetz Fellows.
Proactively research and identify for on- and off-campus entrepreneurial partnerships.
Work with marketing and communications to develop materials that promote entrepreneurship and Sheetz Fellows both past and present.
Initiate, plan, and oversee social media outlets for the Sheetz Center and the Sheetz Fellows including writing and maintaining the e-newsletter.
Supervises, trains and coordinates the work of work study students.
The position typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ideally, candidates would have previous experience with student affairs, student scholarship programs, community engagement and/or entrepreneurship programming.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams. Experience working with students. Experience developing and leading workshops or courses. Awareness of and ability to work with diverse student populations. Demonstrated customer service skills as they relate to working with students. Marketing/social media knowledge preferred. This position will need to work some evenings and weekends in support of Sheetz Center events and activities.
