Reports to the V.P. of Academic Affairs. Full time staff position in the Academic Department, with duties and responsibilities that include but are not limited to the following:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Recruit prospective students and families.

  • Screen applicants and conduct interviews.

  • Write and present student and family social histories to the Admissions Committee.

  • Conduct tours of the school to attract students that support the Glenwood Academy mission statement.

  • Ensure comprehensive admissions process that prepares students and their families for enrollment in both an academic and a residential education setting.

  • Assist in developing and analyzing data to improve programs.

  • Develop recruitment and program marketing strategies to target key markets including churches, neighborhoods, schools, and organizations in consultation with the Director of Clinical Services.

  • Community outreach and liaison with schools, other providers, referral sources, and consumer groups.

  • Work with the Development Department to create appropriate admissions and marketing materials, ads, mailings, web pages, and publications that showcase the school to prospective students.

  • Direct and facilitate the student selection process, which includes systematic and efficient handling of referrals, applications, communications, tours, interviews, arrangements for pre-admissions shadowing and securing proof of student grades and enrollment. Communicate final decisions to applicant's parent(s).

  • Develop a professional and nurturing relationship during the admissions process with students and their family, along with facilitating the orientation process.

  • Manage the re-enrollment of current students for the succeeding year with constant monitoring of attrition and retention.

  • Coordination of the Open House process at least twice per year to showcase the Glenwood Academy property, school, staff and students to prospective applicants and their families.

  • Participation in Glenwood Academy's various staff meetings, in-service workshops, and Continuous Quality Improvement activities.

  • Timely and professional documentation of activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Services or related field.

  • Three years of experience and clear understanding of youth in academic and/or residential setting.

  • Experience with Child and Family interviewing.

  • Comfortable with public speaking and group presentations.

  • Experience with data collection and outcome measures/statistics, understanding of program development and evaluation, and demonstrate effective data analysis abilities.

  • Sensitivity to culture, social and economic diversities.

  • Requires well-developed written and oral communication and computer skills.

  • Valid driver's license and access to personal vehicle required.

EXPERIENCE

  • Capacity and interest in working within a team model.

  • Knowledge of word processing and basic computer functions; intermediate to advanced level of computer skills required.

  • Knowledge of childhood trauma and prior experience working in settings with youth and families that have been exposed to trauma or experience traumatic stress preferred.

  • Knowledge of child and youth development, adolescent issues, positive youth development/strengths preferred.

  • Ability to self-structure and execute responsibilities efficiently.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to effectively communicate a positive message.

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • No history of child abuse or neglect.

  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
