ROUND 1 INTERVIEWS ARE PLANNED TO BE IN PERSON ON MONDAY JULY 1st Under the supervision of the Director of Special Education and Psychological Services, implements and coordinates the Districts special education program, pursuant to District policy, state and federal statutes and relevant regulations. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: • Assist the Director of Special Education in establishing & monitoring procedures for implementation of the District's Special Education program. • Provide administrative leadership for the IEP process. • Monitor written documentation for special education placements as required by law & ensure that proper procedures are being followed by all school IEP teams. • Monitor & resolve complaints or due process proceedings. • Interface and collaborate in a positive manner with parents of special education students. • Provide in-service and meet regularly with special education, psychological services staff & site administrative staff. • Provide assistance to site principals and personnel regarding development and implementation of special education programs. • Write and administer grants. • Coordinate interns • Evaluate selected special education personnel • Ongoing monitoring of staff needs & provide follow-up intervention • Coordination and training of support staff • Leadership & development around comprehensive inclusion plan • Assistance to staff with transitions (pre-K to K, 5-6, and 8-9). • Assistance with high profile or complex IEP meetings. • Provide leadership and support for district Mental Health, Behavior, and Restorative Justice Collaboratives • Training and mentoring staff in the implementation of positive behavior support and assessment • Fosters development of community, business, and civic partnerships • Fiscal responsibility • Other essential duties as assigned

Requirements / Qualifications

Resume Letter of Interest Three (3) Letters of Recommendation, dated within one (1) year. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

Administrative Credential Advanced degree in special education Minimum of 5 years certificated experience in special education in schools Experience supervising mental health, PBIS & restorative justice programs is required. Experience writing/administering grants
