Description
The Coordinator of RTI and 504 acts as a collaborative leader in supporting a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support Framework to ensure program compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and meet Copperas Cove students' instructional needs. To work in collaboration with district level and school site leaders in building strong systems to include data driven decision making, progress monitoring, evidence-based interventions for all students, Section 504 eligibility, and ongoing training.
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Coordinate the overall district RTI Plan and facilitate the implementation of the Section 504 program.
Assist with instructionally focused campus visits to facilitate the implementation of the MTSS framework, services, and tools to include modeling an effective RTI meeting and providing feedback to campus leadership teams.
Conduct intervention observations and provide feedback to campus and district staff.
Collaborate with district instructional staff to ensure the development, identification, and establishment of Tier II and Tier III interventions for campus implementation.
Supervision of Compliance Facilitators, High Quality Providers of Dyslexia Instruction, and other campus interventionists.
Support campus efforts to engage families and promote opportunities for increased family partnerships regarding RTI and Section 504.
Collaborate with all appropriate departments to ensure coordination of MTSS and Section 504.
Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required. Ensure that accurate data is reported through PEIMS.
Consult with and assist campus administrators, teachers, and parents to meet the educational needs of students eligible for Section 504 services.
Provide professional development services to teachers, Campus Instructional Coaches, administrators, and other district instructional leaders to increase gains in student achievement and close achievement gaps.
Coordinate, schedule, and conduct professional development training sessions for district teachers, Instructional Coordinators, Interventionists, and administrators on the use of data including but not limited to, Universal Screening Data, Formative assessment data, State and National Assessment Data to identify areas of strengths and weakness to support students through the MTSS Framework.
Develop and prepare training materials, such as Canva, PowerPoint presentations, instruction documents, presentation handouts, trainers' scripts, users' guides, and videos regarding the RTI process and Section 504.
Provide data analysis, professional development and ongoing support to principals, campus instructional coaches, and district leadership.
Collect and organize documentation and data on services provided to include campus and district student data trackers.
Ensure campus teams monitor and review 504 plans at least once per school year.
Develop process to document and progress monitor intervention plans used to improve student achievement.
Collaborate with district and campus staff in assessing MTSS program effectiveness.
Coordination of summer learning opportunities and initiatives for struggling students to decrease summer learning loss.
Perform all duties as assigned.
Qualifications
At least 3 years of teaching experience required
Strong ability to collect and analyze data to make instructional decisions
Familiarity with a wide variety of research-based interventions and resources
Thorough understanding of Section 504 law, policy, and procedures
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both in written form and orally
Ability to synthesize knowledge and present it to stakeholders in a comprehensive manner
Passionate and loving attitude toward all children
Exceptional leadership skills
Current valid Texas Teaching Certification
Bachelor's degree (required); Master's preferred
T-TESS and AEL certification preferred
