The Coordinator of Pre-Vocational and Employment Services manages assigned Community Division program(s) including review of admissions materials to determine funding appropriate to referred individuals, authorizing services and managing allocations. This includes the selection, supervision and training of supervisory and direct service staff, fiscal and clinical accountability, ensuring program files meets quality assurance standards and compliance with state and county laws and regulations. Duties also include ensuring the service objectives are met for Office of People with Developmental Disabilities, ACCES-VR and any other agencies who provide funding and oversight. The Coordinator of Pre-Vocational and Employment Services will actively pursue, recommend and develop the expansion of existing and new pre-vocational and employment programs and services. The Coordinator will present to small and large groups of various stakeholders and community partners. The Coordinator of Pre-Vocational and Employment Services may also fill in and serve as a direct support professional when necessary or as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Coordinator of Pre-Vocational and Employment Services must be able to consistently and successfully perform all essential functions of the position.
Administer all processes relating to assigned programs
Pursue, recommend and develop the expansion of existing and new pre-vocational and employment programs and services.
Manage funding and departmental expenses for assigned Community Division programs
Provide selection, supervision and training of staff and volunteer providers
Ensure regular communication with individuals (and/or their families) enrolled in programs
Plan, conduct and attend regularly scheduled staff meetings
Assist with a variety of administrative details such as transmitting information, processing bills and invoices, maintaining adequate records, and completing necessary reports
Develop and disseminate marketing materials to key constituents
Ensure timely and accurate completion of incident and/or staff and/or individual accident/injury reports
Share in 24-hour emergency on-call phone rotation as needed
Act as Coordinator for WNY Project SEARCH Collaborative
Collaborate across agency to meet the needs of transition age students
May be required to provide Family Education and Trainings for OPWDD Home and Community Based Services Waiver program.
Perform any other duties as requested by your supervisor
Requirements • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: A valid NYS Driver's License and Agency approval of driving record according to agency policy and procedures. First Aid and SCIP-R certification. Must be cleared through NYS OPWDD criminal background check unit prior to first day of employment.
