Coordinator of Donor Engagement

Position Summary
The Coordinator of Donor Engagement is a key player in the University Advancement team and is instrumental in building and strengthening relationships with alumni and friends to further involve them as donors of the university. This role demands a dynamic individual with the capacity to build relationships, excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and a passion for advancing the mission of John Brown University. This position works closely with the Director of Advancement Engagement to support the JBU Scholarship Fund and the Office of Alumni and Parent Engagement initiatives. This includes demonstrating frontline fundraising abilities and building relationships with community members.

Key responsibilities
Fundraising Support and Donor Relationship Management:
Manages a donor portfolio, coordinating initiatives to effectively engage and steward donors through personalized communication, including phone calls, emails, and mailings.
Manages phonathons, including hiring and scheduling.
Solicits annual fund gifts, leadership giving or larger gifts for the university.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance donor retention and upgrade giving levels.
Assist in developing and implementing annual giving campaigns and other fundraising initiatives.
Participate in special donor events, prospecting and stewardship activities
Donor and Alumni Event Planning:
Plan and execute donor engagement and alumni events for the development team.
Manage invitation list and event communications to alumni and donors.
Coordinate logistics for events, including venue selection, catering, volunteer support and program development.
Community Engagement:
Build and maintain relationships with community members, organizations and stakeholders to foster a positive community presence and promote the mission of the organization.
Participate in community outreach events to engage diverse community groups and individuals in support of JBU's mission and programs.
Special Projects:
Plan, manage and execute special projects throughout the year independently and collaboratively with various departments and stakeholders.
Other Duties:
Set goals and metrics, assuming responsibility for meeting goals and metrics.
Represent the University at alumni, donor and other campus and community events.
Database maintenance, updating necessary records in CRM database.
Assist with general administrative activities and other duties as assigned.
Essential skills and experience
Strong desire to fundraise.
Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
Organizational skills, including setting priorities and accomplishing goals with limited supervision.
Database and standard Microsoft Office software knowledge.
Experience in fundraising and donor relations.
Experience within a university or other non-profit annual fund setting.
Education
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Physical demands and work environment
Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work environment: The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
