Job Summary / Basic Function
Responsible for implementing policy, procedures, and programs in support of the mission of the Campus Recreation Department-Student Affairs. The incumbent provides support to the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation (Clarion) in the development, implementation, coordination, and supervision of the operation of the Student Recreation Center to include the climbing wall, health and wellness programs, informal recreation, and membership. The successful candidate will also support the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation (Clarion) with the operations of the low ropes course, the outdoor recreation program, and all special events related to Campus Recreation.
Specifically, the incumbent will coordinate the social media and technology software and hardware platforms (Connect 2 Concepts) for Campus Recreation, coordinate the Intramural and Sports Club programs, and university mascot events and special programs. This position will report to the Director of Campus Recreation.
Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
The successful candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills; strong organizational, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills; the ability to think critically and manage confidential information; proficiency with computer software programs and Microsoft Office programs.
Minimum of Education / TrainingRequired Education Summary
Bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science, Sport Management, Physical Education, Recreation/Leisure Administration, or related field is required.
The successful candidate will possess a valid driver's license. The candidate will also currently possess or will acquire:
Preferred Qualifications
One year of professional or graduate level experience required in a related field, higher education preferred.
Physical Demands
Must be physically able to coordinate and oversee set ups and events for recreational indoor and outdoor activities at various athletic venues/fields and on various surfaces.
Work Location Clarion campus. Is travel to other PennWest campuses required for this position? If so, how often?

Work Hours Monday through Thursday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some weekend and daylight work will be required.
