COORDINATOR OF ATHLETICS/STUDENT ACTIVITIES/FACILITIES

The Ephrata Area School District is accepting applications for a Coordinator of Athletics/Student Activities/Facilities position for the 2020-2021 school year.

The Coordinator of Athletics, Student Activities and Facilities will establish a positive school environment. This person will emphasize educational goals and communicate regulations governing interscholastic activities.

The Coordinator will inform activity advisors and athletic coaches, student body, parents, and fans of specific expectations. The Coordinator is the face of the athletic program at the Ephrata Area School District and a visible representative in the community. The Coordinator must model the highest ideals of student activities and athletic competition and work to see that all advisors, coaches and teams live up to the highest standards of sportsmanship.

The Coordinator promotes a vision for athletes that is consistent with the District mission. He or she works through the development and formation of advisors, coaches and athletes and assesses the direction and achievement of the student and athletic programs. The Coordinator facilitates and encourages positive relationships between the athletics department and the Ephrata Community.

The coordinator is responsible for processing and organizing internal and external facility use requests, and also works with other community organizations (ie. Maintenance and the recreation center) in the care and preparation of athletic fields. The Coordinator works to maintain a connection between the goals of the athletic department and the mission of the school.

The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience as an effective coach, leader, and athletic administrator and is an individual who is organized, communicates well, collaborates with others, and stands for sportsmanship and fair play. This is a full-time, 12-month position.

The Ephrata Area School District also requires a pre-employment drug test, physical, and TB test upon offer of employment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The responsibilities of the Activities Assistant include but are not limited to the following: * Perform all duties and responsibilities with a positive attitude. * Assist in the Planning, developing, organizing, and implementation of all residence activities. * Develop suggestions and ideas for improving and expanding the Activities Program. * Establish and maintains good community relations and contacts with the community. * Assist in arranging transportation and escorts for residents to and from outside and community activities. * Assist in the recording and maintenance of activity participation records. * Assist with maintaining and expanding Volunteer Programs. * Assist residents with maintaining and operating the residence store. * Assist with maintaining adequate supplies per department budget. * Assist residents to and from activities. * Assist with monthly newsletter and/or weekly calendar. * Attend required in-service training sessions and orientations. * Responds to resident's needs.
