Job Summary: Support the District's K-12 Athletics and Activities Program by providing day to day support to the District's Director of Athletic and Activities. In addition, this position will create, organize, and supervise district athletic and activities events and schedules, including but not limited to K-12 activities, non-league schedules, tournaments and invitations, post-season scrimmages, and summer camps across the district.
Position Information:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Create, organize, and supervise district athletic and activities events and schedules, including but not limited to K-12 activities, non-league schedules, tournaments and invitations, post-season scrimmages, and summer camps.
Assist with the preparation/set-up of district events (athletics and activities)
Serve as the site manager in lieu of the Director of Athletics and Activities
Serve as a game/event manager as directed by the Director of Athletics and Activities. This includes but is not limited to preparing for home events (tickets, money, set-up, clean-up, spectator control, welcoming away teams' buses and officials, concessions)
Coordinate equipment management with head coaches. This includes but is not limited to sending out equipment to be recertified, coordinating collecting/distribution procedures, communicating equipment needs with the Director of Athletics and Activities, establishing equipment storage plans)
Collaborate with the Director of Athletics and Activities regarding head coach and athletic staff (trainer, admin assistant, etc.) evaluations.
Supervise volunteers and Jr. High coaches, providing on-going feedback.
Serve as the Athletic & Activities Community Liaison:
Provide coordination with the booster clubs.
Serve as the primary social media, print & digital media coordinator for K-12 athletics and activities
Assist with local youth and outside organizations on scheduling facilities.
Assist the Director of Athletics and Activities and Building Administrators with special events - (i.e., Signing Day, K-12 activities)
Recruit and supervise volunteers to assist with K-12 athletics and activities
Attend away, post-season, and weekend contests as the school district representative.
Ensure coaches' have necessary certifications - PIAA, First Aid, Cardiac, Concussion,
Certify weekly academic eligibility
Assist with Arbiter and Arbiter Pay as needed.
Coordinate internal and external group/team usage of district facilities using the District's facility management system.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Three (3) to Five (5) years' experience in athletics and/or activities development/coordination.
Associates degree or equivalent experience required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
