Description
This position will work in an administrative capacity for the Family Medicine Predoctoral Student Program, will function as liaison for the program, and will oversee the management of the student educational program as directed by the Predoctoral Program Director or his/her designee. The incumbent will coordinate administrative aspects of all LSUHSC-Dept. of Family Medicine student educational programs, both required and elective, as well as facilitate the participation of Family Medicine faculty in LSUHSC-wide educational programs. A working knowledge of the accreditation standards as published by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) and the Family Medicine Clerkship Curriculum outline as published by the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM), as well as at1 overview of the structure and governance of the LSUHSC-Shreveport School of Medicine Curriculum is imperative in the successful performance of this position.
This person must have good management, communication, and organizational skills, as well as a strong ability to think critically. A high level of technical computer skills is also required. This person must be able to work independently and to establish priorities for the on-going work of this office. The person is expected to develop his/her knowledge and skills in Curriculum Design, Implementation, and Evaluation. This position is supervised directly by the Clerkship Director and indirectly by the Business Manager and Department Chairman.
Regular attendance is required to perform the functions of this position. Incumbent will maintain a positive learner-oriented awareness in his/her work with numerous and diverse students, residents, faculty, clinic staff, and fellows and LSUHSC-affiliated administrators in acknowledging and responding to needs as they occur that fair and professional interactions are always maintained.
