Grain Valley Schools has an opening for a Special Education Process Coordinator for the 2024/2025 school year.

The coordinator will manage the process of special education referrals and evaluations; develop appropriate programming for students from the IEP process through placement; and will ensure provision of a free appropriate public education (FAPE) to all students who qualify for special education. The coordinator ensures compliance with federal, state and local requirements.

Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Special Education or related field, preferred

• Missouri Special Education Certification

• Strong knowledge of special education law and compliance

• Ability to problem solve and make data-driven decisions

• Ability to build positive working relationships with students, parents, and staff

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to handle information with utmost confidentiality

Essential Duties:

• Supervise and coordinate all aspects of special education process

• Resource for all educators related to struggling learners

• LEA Representative in IEP meetings or other situations where appropriate

• Liaison between the district and outside agencies for the purpose of FAPE and compliance

• Collect ongoing data for special education programming operations

• Advise and Assist the Director of Special Services

• Stay abreast of current laws, policies, and procedures for special education
