Job Title Coordinator Department Natural History Museum - 21005 Pay Grade 8 Job Category Support Staff Job Summary
The ETSU Gray Fossil Site & Museum is seeking applications for a Coordinator. This position is responsible to the Director for providing support to the museum in facility and site management, website development and maintenance, exhibit maintenance and development, and providing administrative support. This position also supervises and trains some support staff, serves on committees as appropriate, and performs other related duties as assigned.
The ETSU Gray Fossil Site & Museum together with partner, the Hands On! Discovery Center, is a dynamic hub for science and education in northeastern Tennessee. The world-class paleontological site preserves a one-of-a-kind window into the Appalachian Highlands five million years ago and is an invaluable resource for paleontology research and education.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of computer software to accomplish word processing and spreadsheet management.
Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
Knowledge of AAM Accreditation policies and procedures.
Knowledge and understanding of ETSU policies and guidelines.
Knowledge of TDOT requirements for the museum.
Knowledge of the academic and administrative structure of ETSU, and personnel/payroll system.
Knowledge of the fossil site, laboratory, field, and collections room.
Ability to use interpersonal communication skills with staff, community, students, and volunteers.
Ability to establish and maintain effective, congenial working relationships and function as part of a team.
Ability to work efficiently and effectively with minimum supervision in an environment of multitasking.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate multiple tasks for own work as well as the work of others.
Ability to give attention to detail.
Ability to solve problems, make decisions, and accept responsibility for those decisions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
One year of relevant experience,
or
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Experience working in a natural history museum
Experience working with university facilities
Experience working with and managing contractors for repairs and maintenance
Experience developing and managing websites
Experience working with museum exhibit teams and exhibit fabrication
