THE POSITION: The Coordinator III, History-Social Science position within the Los Angeles County Office of Education serves a pivotal role in providing comprehensive support to the Local Education Agencies (LEAs) within Los Angeles County.

This position is dedicated to delivering high-quality professional development, creating instructional resources, and overseeing key events and initiatives aimed at promoting History-Social Science education across Los Angeles County and the State. The Coordinator III will be responsible for leading the planning and execution of significant events such as the Constitution Day Conference, History Day L.A. competition, and the California Civic Learning Student Showcase and Awards Ceremony. Additionally, active participation in various committees, including the Curriculum and Instruction History-Social Science Subcommittee, is essential to ensure alignment with educational goals and standards.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Experience: Five or more years of comprehensive, directly related, and progressive educational administrative experience, including at least three years of curriculum development, or professional development, and a minimum of three years as a site level administrator.

Five or more years of teaching History-Social Science in a classroom setting. Education: Master's degree in education, History, Social Science, or a related field from an institution of higher learning accredited by one of the six regional accreditation associations as recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE (All applicants must attach credential with document number to their application.

Please do not attach the certificate copy of your Credential. See below for step-by-step instructions.): • Possess and maintain a valid California Single Subject Social Science Teaching Credential or multiple subject teaching credential. • Possess and maintain a valid Supervisory or Administrative Services Credential. • Must possess appropriate EL certification.
