In addition to all duties in Program Coordinator I, Program Coordinator II will perform these duties:
Assist in developing, implementing, managing and evaluating middle and/or high school programs year round
Liaise with Boston Public School representatives to: facilitate in school and out of school curriculum, monitor student progress, and track graduates of the program
Coordinate comprehensive summer and academic year program activities (i.e. courses, internships, events, etc.)
Assist with the recruiting, liaising, and evaluating of internship preceptors and sites.
Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians to update them on student performance in programs
Ensure regular attendance at all program activities
Complete monthly and annual progress reports
Regularly input program data for tracking outcomes
Participate in the evaluation process to determine the effectiveness of educational programs, instruction, activities, materials, and services
Perform other duties as required
This job description is based on the Program Coordinator Series. May be required to perform any and all duties and responsibilities of a Coordinator II, as set forth in the BPHC Coordinator Series.
Master's degree in Public Health, Education, or related discipline such as social work, psychology, or health communications; OR BA/BS and 2 years of equivalent experience coordinating youth-serving public health programs and/or community organizing
Experience developing, implementing, and facilitating lesson plans and group activities
Ability to supervise youth, particularly when it comes to evaluating and motivating students
Knowledge of positive youth development principles helpful, including a familiarity with progressive discipline models
Ability and experience working with diverse populations.
Ability to write clear, concise reports and to follow and give written and oral instructions in a precise and understandable manner
